Interchange is 8....Am I correct?

If so....

What I'd expect: McQualter, Rix, Allen and Eddy to be dropped.

And basically at this stage....Its probably what I'd want as well.

Don't think so....I believe that his form in three pre-season matches is next to insignificant after his solid performance all of last year.

He is miles ahead of other players on that list anyways.

I think you'll find that Birss is doing his job. Gets a set task and carries it out, if he keeps bobbing up for a goal or two - well that's a bonus.

Who we gunna put on the birdman?? Maxie, Gilbert or maybe even Raph??

Let's not forget what this is. It's a pre-season hitout before the real stuff in a fortnight.

I hardly think Ross Lyon will be dropping guys.

Surely this is still a prep for R1. Important game time and touch for guys who are expected to be important for us during the year.

Exactly...And its hardly the time to begin to include fringe players coming off injury...ie McQualter.

Rix is in danger because of Max and Kos coming in. So is Allen.

And Eddy is probably the least experienced after that.

Which Clarke is on the ground and which on the bench?

I assume M. Gardiner is on the bench and Charlie is named in the run on side, too?

that team just looks so much more balanced with genuine ruckmen in it.
Am liking the way we're looking and the build-up to the real stuff on 22nd March.

"Saints pick Koschitzke for NAB Cup final

St Kilda have recalled tall utility Justin Koschitzke for Saturday night's AFL NAB Cup grand final against Adelaide.

The ruckman-forward missed the Saints' semi-final win over Essendon but was included in a 30-man squad for the preseason playoff at Adelaide's AAMI Stadium.

Star forward Nick Riewoldt was named despite finishing last week's encounter on the bench, while creative defender Sam Fisher was also included.

The Crows, in naming their 26-man team for the grand final, made one change to the side that defeated Hawthorn last week, dropping forward rookie forward James Sellar for Bryce Campbell.

Here is a comparison of the teams for this weekend and the teams for the last time we met the Crows.

ROUND 15 2007 TEAMS

ST KILDA
B: Jason Blake, Matt Maguire, Steven Baker
HB: Jason Gram, Sam Fisher, Leigh Fisher
C: Aaron Fiora, Lenny Hayes, Leigh Montagna
HF: Robert Harvey, Nick Riewoldt, Xavier Clarke
F: Stephen Milne, Fraser Gehrig, Sam Gilbert
FOLL: Justin Koschitzke, Nick Dal Santo, Luke Ball
I/C: Jayden Attard, Shane Birss, Michael Rix, Andrew Thompson, Raphael Clarke

(Not sure who didn’t play out of the 5 man bench….I’d guess Thommo)

ADELAIDE
B: Graham Johncock, Ben Rutten, Kris Massie
HB: Andrew McLeod, Scott Stevens, Jason Torney
C: Nathan van Berlo, Robert Shirley, Simon Goodwin
HF: Scott Welsh, Nathan Bock, Brent Reilly
F: Chris Knights, Ken McGregor, Mark Ricciuto
FOLL: Ben Hudson, Tyson Edwards, Scott Thompson
I/C: Michael Doughty, Ivan Maric, Brett Burton, Richard Douglas

NAB CUP TEAMS

ST KILDA
B: Gilbert, Hudghton, Baker
HB: Gram, S Fisher, L Fisher
C: Fiora, Hayes, Montagna
HF: Harvey, Riewoldt, X Clarke
F: Schneider, Koschitzke, Gardiner
Foll: King, Dal Santo, Ball
I/C (from): Gardiner, R Clarke, Rix, Geary, Milne, Jones, Birss, Armitage, Eddy, McQualter, Blake, Allen

ADELAIDE
B: Johncock, Rutten, Stevens
HB: Symes, Bock, van Berlo
C: McLeod, Thompson, Mackay
HF: Porplyzia, Tippett, Goodwin
F: Vince, McGregor, Burton
Foll: Maric, Reilly, Knights
I/C: Moran, Griffin, Bassett, Edwards, Doughty, Shirley, Douglas, Campbell

INS & OUTS

Assuming McQualter, Allen, Rix & Eddy are to be dropped from the extended bench……

Us

In: Hudghton, King, Gardiner, Gardiner, Schneider, Geary, Armitage, Jones.

Out: Maguire, Gehrig, Attard, Thompson, Rix

Them

In: Symes, Porplyzia, Tippett, Vince, Bassett, Griffin, Moran, Campbell.

Out: Torney, Hudson, Welsh, Massie.

We have a host of signficant ins with Gehrig being the only significant out (Maguire was struggling)

Adelaide have Bassett coming in but Hudson is a major out for them, especially with Biglands still injured.

We beat them last time but they have home ground advantage this time and look to have hit their straps early. However, we have far better additions to our selected side. The change up in the ruck for both sides is of particular note! Should be an interesting game......

Pretty sure Allen will play. Has done well in 2 out of 3 games.
