Collingwood Announces Captain

Post: # 527419Post SaintBot »

Scott....

...Burns

I wouldve taken the youth route of Scott Pendlebury personally but I guess those inside the club know best

We must be one of the last clubs now to announce our official captain for 08

Good decision by Collingwood, Scott Burns is a great example of the professional football player. Never heard a bad word come from his mouth or a bad word said about him.

Nothing but respect for him, deserves to be captain.

Agreed F_Q_F.
After hearing him in a long interview on SEN last year I was amazed at the level-headedness and maturity of him.

IMO he will provide them with quiet, great leadership.

Used to have a bit of a hot head...

He got weeks for hitting Stuart Loewe with an elbow back in 97.

I would have gone with Josh Fraser personally.

Reckon he would have grown with the responsibility.

Maybe Pendels will, too.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Not really a great lot to pick from when you look at it. Josh is hardly an imposing figure on the ground. Maxwell while hes hard and couragous does this mean Blake should be captain? Pendlebury has had what one reasonable season and Burns is 33.

I agree with the club.

Give S Burns the in between year as Captain (which he thoroughly deserves anyways) and that will allow Pendles to mature at minimum 1 more year.

Then its Pendles all the way! (Did I mention the bloke has a wicked name!!!)

Then why did you say...we WILL announce ours today....Instead of We may announce ours today...

Seriously...Please make your posts worth reading. You are making a lot of them but the quality of information that you put forward is incredibly minimal...

Josh Fraser is not popular with the other players, plays too much on the fringe getting easy stats.

Figjam is also a hard act to follow.

Burnsey will be interim until one of the younger guys steps up.

It will never be Rocca.

yeh i remember that.

our first win for the season :D and there first loss :D

couldnt remeber seeing it live but when i kept seeing it again and again it look pretty bad.

nothing against scott burns, but i would have though nick maxwell would have been a better captain. smart aggressive (sums up collingwood in a word  ) and loves the club.
