Was covered, with footage of today's training, on Channel 10 news.

Featured snippets of an interview with Leigh Montagna who said amongst other things that they would like to win on Saturday night and again in Round 1.

I guess its down to me - not kown for my inspiring reports but here goes.

All of the group looked fit and in high spirits but the whole training session looked to be just a demonstration for the press really.

Didn’t remember noticing Max and didn’t see Fraser
Roo looks in exceptional form – did a lot of laps and very fast sprints.
Bally looked as if everything is going OK from what I saw – not as we have seen in past years but at least he looks a bit fitter every time I see him these days.
BJ didn’t join the main group much and did a lot of laps – At one stage Rossy had a chat with him, which looked to me like it was a heart-to-heart, but I’m only speculating, Rossy also had pulled Milney aside for a chat.
Goose looked as fit as I think I have ever seen him – He was actively involved with the main group and it was obvious that he is jumping out of his skin at the moment.
James Gwilt did one-on-one training for the whole time I was there – It didn’t appear to be particularly intensive and mainly kick-to-kick, not sure what that was all about - will he play this week?
Harves was with the rehab group but looked fine to me.
Clinton Jones was with the main group for most of the time I was there but joined the rehab group for some handball
McEvoy did some laps with the big boys and couldn’t keep up – he was blowing and panting in the attempt, but with a determined look on his face.

Basically everyone was there. Only Max didn't really train.

They trained for 2 hours, a really extensive workout.

Roo looks awesome, Bally looks good. They all look good.
Best pre season training I've seen in 5 years. No crutches or players with heavy bandaging.

Harvey looked a little off, but who knows with Banger, he always looks stuffed. He didn't do much. Same goes for Gwilt and Attard understandably. BJ appears to be not far away. Maguire did everything.
King and Michael G are in great shape.

Should be an interesting season for Saints supporters.

Max and Steven didnt come onto the track at all and G was on for 10 seconds. Harvs, Khan, Dempster and and Attard did kick to kick and other basic stuff. Rooy, Lenny, Bally, Kingy, Gards, BJ, Raph and Ben ran laps. Jimmy did one on one work and Cj joined rehab.

Looking at today you would say Max will not play and Kosi would. Bj would be very doubtful and there must be a slight doubt over harvs. Steven was probably at school so he should be right. Goose would be a chance of playing for Casey in the next week or so. Not sure how people can say Rooy trained well because even though I didnt stay to the end it looked like he only ran laps.

If Fraser didn't train, I'm a monkey's uncle.

I have it on good authority that Max will play. He was there. I saw him have about six handballs about 1.50pm.

no worries mate, I have no idea as I was on nephew babysitting duty. Good to hear that max will make the trip and G is training. All goes well for a close to full team for round 1.

Any idea if they are at all worried about taking max over the SA?

Was that in the early warm-up? if so, I just arrived at the end of that - The big fella prabably went on the gym to scare the pants off the weights.

More images are up on WoM now. I have found it safer to produce images and keep my mouth firmly closed whenever I can get away with it.
