Bad omen or breaking the voodoo?
I need some reassurance please. After 11 years of faithful service my St Kilda coffee mug dived out of my hand this morning & smashed on the ground. My dilemma is, is this a bad omen for Saturday night or does it mean that the voodoo over our club has been lifted? I'm hoping the latter, but just wondering if any others have had any signs?
P.S. This is all light hearted fun.

Definitely a good sign Snoopy - whilst the past 11 years have had their rewards from time to time, the big prize has eluded us and I now strongly believe the destruction of the vessel which previously held your coffee, sugar and milk is a clear sign that 2008 is going to be the Year of the Saint, not just for the NAB Cup but for the season regular.
What a relief.
What a relief.
Please...let's win a Premiership before GEELONG!!!! (O.k., so we've missed that opportunity...maybe let's win the next one before Geelong????)

i blame that mug for a lot of our troubles and am delighted to see the end of it.
do not under any circumstances try to repair it. bury it in unconsecrated ground with the handle in a separate plot.
with this curse lifted the sky is now the limit for our club in 2008. it's good riddance to bad rubbish

Here here Carl. That mug has been the bane of the club for a long time. Since Snoopy started using it just prior to the '97 GF, it's been nothing but trouble. Give thanks that it's gone and a new, more vibrant, injury free St.Kilda can emerge from the shadow. Thank god.bigcarl wrote: i blame that mug for a lot of our troubles and am delighted to see the end of it.

my first reaction is I hope franga doesn't have a pet cemetary, hate to see an evil mug come back from the grave.snoopygirl wrote:I need some reassurance please. It all depends on the type of mug, I had one of the collectors type with the past heros on it and it got broken last year and we missed the finals.... never talked to that workmate ever again

good omen ...in my humble opinion....11 years since that grand final loss........buy yourself a new cup and sip from it as the saints march to a flag .....

Black with the logo on it. Was very much loved by me & coffee just won't taste the same. My daughter was here when it happened & it's my birthday next week, so perhaps she'll buy me a new one.
Solar, there is no pet cemetery in "Franga". I was at work in the city so it has gone in the rubbish bin here & will be transported who knows where. Some dump in SA I hope, to continue the curse on the Crows.

It's a pity you didn't keep it and break it into 15 pieces - 1 for each of the other clubs.snoopygirl wrote:Black with the logo on it. Was very much loved by me & coffee just won't taste the same. does that mean if I drop something near your daughter she might buy me a new one?snoopygirl wrote:Black with the logo on it. Was very much loved by me & coffee just won't taste the same. My daughter was here when it happened & it's my birthday next week, so perhaps she'll buy me a new one.
