When he recovers from the knee surgery he had during pre-season, I'm sure he'll get a run.

Was it surgery? Didn't think it was that extreme.

I believe he just had a knee athroscope so he won't be out long enough to warrant a move to the LTI.

That was a few weeks ago as well so I'm sure he'll be having a run for the Scorpions shortly.

When he emerges it will be interesting to see where he lines up...ie defence or as a mifield tag.....or perhaps in another role that RL who knows him well may have in mind for.

He reportedly has the tank to play midfield...and so in theory can play a huge varity of roles....

Midfield, tagger, HBF, BP....

Maybe even FB????

Can play tall with some success (like BJ or Blake for example) but better suited to a running role ...

RL rates him big time, so I would expect him to be in the 22 once he is fit.


They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Dempster's up against it to get a game. He was on the fringes to start with, and missing preseason has meant that he hasn't been able to impress anybody. Going on his Sydney form he's well behind a number of players we've tried in the backline, which is where he played in the intraclub. I don't think he wins enough ball to justify using him in the midfield, even as a tagger.

In 54 senior games for Sydney, he had 15 or more disposals just once. I'd rather see the likes of Birss, Blake, Raph Clarke, Fiora and Leigh Fisher than Dempster.

I ceratainly agree.....he is basically a bonus player thrown in as part of the deal to get Schneider.

However RL would not have taken him without something in mind....

Was it just added depth after a horrific injury run in 2007....or something else?

Im thinking hes a potential FB. We need cover for Max and we dont really have it. His weight is ok because there arent many "gorillas" in the game anymore. Most FF's run around a lot.
