Ins and Outs...for GF

Post: # 525462Post saintsRrising »

I expect the rotations (including very much in the game) to continue...but also that the Saints will have an eye on the Cup

In Kosi, Max, Geary, S Fisher

Out Rix , 2 of L Fisher Raph or Eddy, Steven

Main question mark would seem to be Roos knee???....and how small that twing was that Max had....

While it is only the NAB GF...it is a GF none the less and therefore I would like all those players who are our most serious prospects for "best 22" to play.......

This is stiff for Eddy and Steven...

I would say Max is no hope and Kosi would 50/50. Fiher and geary will play and BJ will play somewhere next week .The only question is where.
Also surely Fizz could be in trouble as well. His form in 3 games has been poor.

Good post. I think given Kosi's and Max's injury history, the club would not be willing to take a chance unless there is ZERO risk involved. I'd say Eddy, Steven, Fizz, Rix and R. Clarke are in line to be "rested" whilst obviously S. Fisher, Geary and BJ are in line to come in.

hopefully Adelaide wins tonight and the FINAL (it's not a friggin GF, that's in SEPTEMBER!) is in Adelaide.

Reason: The young players need practice playing interstate in front of a reasonable crowd!

Mongrel partisan crowd . When we score there is silence !!!

We wont get any umpiring decisions that are 50-50

kosi said at half time he would be back

would like to see chips and geary come back in. I think eddy is starting to feel it a little. With ball and hayes to get more ball time next week I would not be suprised to see the likes of eddy get a rest. Been impressive though and a good one for the future.

how good is armo's tackling!!! lol sorry watching the replay, that last tackle for the winning goal was awesome!

Kosi said on TV last night that if we made to the final, he would definitely play. So hopefully.

Watching the replay dismorning, at half time Bruce asked Kosi "Will you play in the Grand Final if the Saints win tonight."

Koschitzke replied..."Definitely"

BJ no chance as I could see- has not had ANY game time since he did his knee- not going to be risked in a final- especially if we're taking Roo and Bally in for part games.

drain did suggest that BJ would play in the fourth round of the preseason, no matter who and where we were playing.

I would expect that would ramp up the game time for the likes of hayes and ball. With an 8 man bench it's not much to expect the likes of BJ and kosi playing half games, even if it is a granny

thanks solar

I guess same as Bally this week and Chivers the last two- probably combines with the is it only another game to get real time practice and experience on - or will they be swayed into going for the win.

I would think:

IN: S. Fisher, Koschitzke, Geary
OUT: Rix, Eddy, Fiora

Think Raph will be kept in seeing as he missed the previous week and they will want to get some games into him.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Sounds close to me.

Geez that Armitage is a bit of a player isn't he?? Really impressed with his work. He could lose those slam-it-on-the-boot kicks though...

Also if Jones could work on his decision making, he'd really benefit. No doubts he's in the 22 though.

he is definately taken fioras spot in the 22, but seems to rush his kicks at present. But he does have a good kicking style when he is less rushed and more balanced so hopefully this will come as he gets used to the speed of the high level.

Ross Lyon has been right on the money so far with who will play over the next few weeks so I won't be at all surprised to see Goddard play. Its really nice that he has slipped so far under the radar that people don't think we would play him in a practice match final. The game will still have the extended bench so he could easily play half a game. If Ross wants him cherry ripe for early in the H&A then he will want him to play and you can bet anything that BJ will be pushing hard. IMO the older players like Max and Harves are more likely to be held back and those such as Montagna who have so far played every pre-season game. Don't expect anything special just because it is the pre-season final.

indeed 8 on the bench allows inclusion ofa player or two that can only playa quarter ora half.

For example ball only played the second half against the Dons...and it would not surprise me at all if Ball only played half a game next week as well.

I can't wait to have BJ kicking in from full back again.....amongst other aspects of his game.
