ESSENDON big guns Matthew Lloyd, Dustin Fletcher and Adam McPhee will miss Friday night's NAB Cup semi-final against St Kilda.

Coach Matthew Knights said today Fletcher (knee soreness) and Lloyd (hamstring) would return next week.

“If it was the season proper Lloyd, Fletcher and McPhee still wouldn’t be playing this week,â€

They got Paddy Ryder and Mal Michael as options from Riewoldt still. Can't see Mal going with Roo or ever leaving defensive 50. We should try a small set up i reckon for a change. Roo the focal point, Charlie outside the 50 doing what he does, and then Jones, Xavier, Milne, Schnieder up front, would be interesting although not ideal.

I think we will win, purely because we are better in the middle. I went to the bombers/dogs game last week. There was nothing outstanding about them, plenty of errors and while they were quick, the dogs were slow and they didn't seem anything special.

well with fletcher out the likelyhood of one of our players having a career threatening leg injury after another accidental trip or a kick from tangles has been lowered.

if there was a 'clumsy' player than fletcher who got a golden run from umpire and tribunal it would have to be silvagni or carey.

Who even cares who they've got in or out :?:  It's a PRACTICEseries. We've (presumably) got players like Roo, Lenny, Luke coming back who haven't played in a long time-if we win GREAT, if we don't well we've still significantly improved our membership and given game time to our players. That's all that matters!

True enough. A good first prize.
