Bugger!L ets hope its more of a strain than a tear and they are being careful.Could still be ok for round one with a bit of luck :roll:

Showing his age with that sort of injury ...

He's had a good pre-season, so I reckon he will be right for Round 1.


They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Yeah I know, but the incidence of calf injuries amongst athletes over the age of 30 is a lot higher than with those <30

Too true unfortunately, James Hird comes to mind here.

Let Gehrig take the time to get over this properly without pushing his return s what the Doctor should order. Lets have no recurrences of this.


Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Gehrig is one of the rare players i go to see play almost as much as i go to see the team play. So hopefully he will play in the first round and all the way up to the grand final. One of the few characters in the game.

other injuries from the weekend
Hawthorn: Clarke (corked elbow)
Carlton: Hampson (bruised testicle), Jackson (corked thigh)
Sam Fisher - elbow?

Milney was also sporting a bandage/ support on his arm anyone hear why?

He didn't look to happy at half time on Saturday. Ice was strapped on, Very un-talkitive as he got on the bus after the game as well.
