heck anything is better then the Rix Clarke duo we had last year or the Ackland Blake of the year befor

if kingy and gardy can at least make a contest of the rucks then we are already ahead on previous years

Exactly, I'm so sick of people telling me that King and Schneider aren't good enough players to win a flag, but they are a hell of a lot better than the Clarke/ Voss of '07...
Not to mention they free up Kosi to play forward and take a bit of defensive attention away from Milne...

The Cats with their new medical and conditioning team in place decided to not rush King back as in previous years and to instead slowly build his fitness over the year.

So rather than his body being shot at round 22 it was in the best condition it had been for many a year..

The cats spent the year getting him ready..at the end of theseaon he was in good touch and played an excellent game in the VFL Grand Final and a more than adequate game in the AFL GF.

Yes but as far as the fans were aware (especially fans of other clubs) King's career was over...

But he had not played in the grand final just after round 22 and I still don't believe the hype, he was ok in the GF but nothing spectacular...

Quite sad really..organising your life so you can constantly change IP addresses, email addys and usernames, just to continue posting inflammatory nonsense on an Internet fan forum.

NO consideration for the administrators of the site who have to take time out of their real lives to try and ban you time and again because of your history of posting offensive rubbish?

Oh..and just to prove his manhood his av's are all girly pics :!:

Sad sad sad

The truly sad thing is, that knowing everybody find his slight annoyances pathetic really wont stop him, he will just keep on going until he finds another forum who are more agressive to him...

Blake itching for shot against St Kilda

Geelong forward Cameron Mooney says team-mate Mark Blake will be out to prove a point in Saturday's NAB Cup quarter-final against St Kilda in Canberra.

In what's shaping as the most intriguing individual clash of the match, Blake will square off against former team-mate Steven King in the ruck.

Despite playing 22 of the Cats' first 24 matches last year, Blake was controversially dumped for the experienced King in Geelong's record-breaking premiership belting of Port Adelaide.

King was the best ruckman on the ground in the grand final, only to be traded to St Kilda two weeks later.

Blake considered leaving the club in the wake of the grand final disappointment before signing a new three-year contract.

"Blakey's got a point to prove," Mooney said.

"He had a very good year, it probably finished in the way he didn't like so he's got a lot to prove to everybody.

"Every game for him should be a huge challenge."

Former captain King only played six senior matches in his last season at Geelong, forcing his way into the grand final team at Blake's expense with a solid showing the previous week in the Cats' VFL triumph.

While Mooney said King is still one of his great mates, he's looking forward to playing against him.

"I'll try and trip him over, whack him across the ears," he said.

Mooney said the Cats will continue to rotate players during the pre-season competition.

"We'll rotate a few players this week so if we win great, if we lose then so be it, it's not going to be the end of the world.

"It's more about getting prepared for round one, giving the younger kids an opportunity to play, that's our main focus at the moment."

Mooney even hinted he might have a week off if the Cats' win.

Mooney said he was happy with how the forward line was working despite the absence of Nathan Ablett, who announced last month he was taking an indefinite break from the rigours of AFL football.

"Tommy Hawkins and Tommy Lonergan, I don't think they have to do anything special," he said.

"As long as they are around and play their part we'll be right."

Mooney also said he was not surprised with how sharp the reigning premiers were in their NAB Cup opener against Melbourne, citing a focused pre-season.

The Cats thumped the Demons by 72 points at Skilled Stadium last Saturday.

So according to Cam Mooney, it is Steven King's fault that the Geelong selectors thought he was the better choice ruckman for the grand final?
