Friday night frustrations

Post: # 519735Post saintbrat »

:) now this will not be what many of you think-
I loved the game
I actuallly enjoy Friday night games- ( means I somtimes get other things done at the weekend)

but the problems I have are more to do with the follow up
because the game doesn't finish till around 10 or after
a) the newspapers don't get full reports in to first editions- us in the country get half single coloumn report
b) no pictures
c) audio and video updates on websites don't happen till Monday d) no after match shows- ie the fifth quarter,
e) by saturday morning the impetus on radio etc is to the games coming and not necesarily the games the night before
f) by the time you get to Sunday Media it's all about Saturdays games- IE papers have new pictures and heaps because games finish in time for deadlines, TV- footy show do about a 2 min review of "way back on friday night" are looking to the games ahead on Sun Arvo.

g) By sunday I'm almost ready to look to the next game- which can be along long way ahead :)

Looking at a positive spin on things however, if we win on a friday night, it makes watching football for the rest of the weekend much easier and enjoyable, and things arent overly hyped in the media which annoys me.

But of course a loss on a friday night results in a lack of motivation to watch footy for the weekend.

IMO there is nothing better than friday night games when you win, you go nuts at the game, have a chat with fellow supporters on the train ride back, get home hit up Saintsational and then go to bed exhausted and content :) :)
