M Blake vs King
Our next NAB game is against the Cats.
A bit of extra interest will be M Blake vs King in the ruck.
King was given the heave ho...and he knows it.
A recent interview with King had him stating that the Cats had offered him a one year deal for next year, but within a week it disappeared.
And of course from Blake's point of view Blake missed being in a winning GF because of King.
So one cost the other a GF medallion.
The other cost him his club....
So this could make for an interesting ruck contest when they face off

Unless King and Gards decide to whack Blake in the chest I can't see that happening. While they are an improvement on our recent ruck stocks, the guys simply can not get more than 30cm off the ground.LENNY LEADS THE WAY wrote:As much as Blake improved last year expect King and Gardy to smash young Blake i have a felling blake may wake up with very sore ribs the morning after the game
at this stage of blake's career i still believe kingy is the better playermad saint guy wrote:Unless King and Gards decide to whack Blake in the chest I can't see that happening. Blake is young and is an old day ruckman who will struggle to really cement his spot in the game

Hey Dooley, if you want to see a real cry baby then focus on Mark Blake. Poor sod couldn't contain his emotions on ground final day. I'll never forget the dark glasses, the chewing gum and the tears of disappointment watching his team mates accepting their premiership medallions.
Now that 's what you call a self centered baby! A bit like you.

well you couldnt help being a bit upset playing the whole season then getting rolled by the club in the grand final. anyway those tears might just be for hes team mates and the fact that they had finally done it.

If Ottens isn't playing we will win the Ruck Contests, if he is we wont, pretty simple.
As for Blake crying Granny Mae, get over yourself, like you've never cried tears of disappointment...
Jeez us footy supporters are hypocrites we complain that football is too much about money now yet we bag anybody who shows passion FFS
Blake is a professional footy player, it has been his dream his whole life probably to play for Geelong in a grand final and he helps get his team there just to be dropped at the last hurdle, how would you feel, I admire the guy just for making it down to the field, that shows me he is NOT self-centered...
As for Blake himself, is a good player, will get better but will never be great...

If not the Matchups will be:
King vs Blake
Gardiner vs West
Gardiner should be able to beat West who is only young.
im predicting the cats will go in with blake and west and then the sainst ruckman can tap down to our midfielders and with chappy and ablett out we will have great run out of the middle. expect us to dominate the centre clearences.

We shouldn't be getting ahead of ourselves yet, even without Ablett and Chapman (who is more of a forward) they still have a solid midfield... Bartel, Corey, Ling, Kelly and Prismall are far from weak...saint edward wrote:LTN16 wrote:Is Ottens playing this week ?

yeh i hear you but like they say alot of the game is played in the head and when i was watching the cats game yesterday bartel seemed to be playing up foward so i dont know whether he will be back in the midfield for next saturday but i would presumme so. IMO we should get leeny back for this game just for a run before the season starts.

After round 22 last year King's body was shot and he hadn't play consistent footy in some time.plugger66 wrote:After round 22 last Blake was way ahead of King but one game and a change of clubs seems to make King into the next Simon Madden.
Nobody is saying that King is a superstar, only the most deluded fan would be comparing him to the likes of Madden or Cox however he is a great improvement on what we've had in recent years and he is more than capable of taking on 2nd tier rucks like Blake, Jamar, Pattison, Cloke etc...
