Kosi may have had the wobbles tonight.
But G train hasn't lost that beautiful left foot.
What about that set shot in the left pocket that swung in from right to left ?
And generally our kicking was pretty good.
There were a few good snap goals.
And some terrific field kicks to leading players.

Speaking of goals, does anyone know how these stupid super-goals get assessed ?
Monty kicked one before half time that wasn't paid.
Then suddenly half way through the 3rd quarter it "appeared" on the scoreboard.
Is there a third umpire watching replays ?
How does that work ?
And why did it take such an incredibly long time to correct such an obvious mistake ?
Peronally I think it is a stupid concept and we should be playing under uniform rules.

the scoreboard changed at the sametime
that happens a fair bit and everyone could see, especially after the replay, that it was a nine pointer but they have to wait till the next break for it to change
imagine the uproar if the scores were changed after the match meaning team A, who "won" by two points now lose to team B by a point due to a unrewarded nine pointer being corrected after the siren

He tries to kick it too hard.rexy wrote:Think he will get it right. His ball drop looks o.k to me, nice and straight, guides the ball down, just a bit rusty and a bit of nerves first game of the year I would say.
Alot get confused between the concept of kicking through the ball, and kicking it too hard.
You don't have to kick it hard to kick through it.
Kosi has always been a woeful kick for goal.

Absolute rubbish!! Kosi has always been very reliable and particularly so from long range. It has only been in the last part of last season and through this season ( intra-club and Rd 1 NAB) that he has developed the yips!! Up until recently - the one bloke you'd want to have an important shot at goal - cos he would kick those big goals!! Boy, are you becoming a sad-sack lately!!!rodgerfox wrote:He tries to kick it too hard.rexy wrote:Think he will get it right. I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

Kosi has always been a woeful kick for goal.
Before last year it was still average, at 67-39.
His goal kicking has always been poor - particularly in 05 with 24-14 and the in 06 he kicked 6 goals 8!
This also doesn't include out on the full which he has had plenty of.

I've noticed over the years that Kosi has been very inaccurate. Last night was no different. Has had some games where he is accurate, but I have found since his debut that he has been consistantly inconsistant in front of goal. Definatly needs to be assessed if he is going to play a more prominant role in the forward line.
As for the G-Train, his kicking was magnificent. 3 from 3. Pitty about the penalty he gave away, but watching the replay, the other guy did have his hands around the throat, so it was petty 50-50. Umpire just picked up for the retailiation, rather than the initial argy-bargy from the Richmond player. Other than that, G had a great night, not spectacular, but was a very valuable contributer, and used the ball well up the ground too.

That's average for a full forward.
It's actually pretty good IMO.
Plugger - 70%
Coventry - 60%
Dunstall - 66%
Wade - 60%
Ablett (senior) - 60%
Lloyd (to end 2006) - 56%
Carey - 61%
He's in some good company. Mind you they all kicked a hell of a lot more goals than Kosi ever will.
