Charlie Gardiner Watch Thread - facts please

Post: # 489431Post cowboy18 »

Can he recover from the trauma of trading?

Will he add to our forward line potency?

What number does he wear?

Does he go to nightclubs?

What does he look like?

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Bloody good player, will play a Riewoldt like role across HF, and take pressure off Roo.

Is he Roo's protege?

Will he finish our forward structure?

What did he eat last night?

Do you think he picks his nose?

I like gorgonzola pizza.

Does Charlie speak Italian?

I posted a long long time ago that a Geelong nu-nu I work with, who played a few games early 90's for the Cats and now just turns up with his Record and pen  said Charlie will be a perfect foil for our forward line, playing alongside Roo on a flank and soaking up another tall opposition back.

Mind you, that was before we coaxed that Swiss recruit Gehrig out... however I still think Charlie is showing enough to play quality forward line football.

Also rates Jack Steven highly - second source on him for me now - apparently will be a gun.

you did iceman and I recalled your words tonight and was chuffed to see stevens involved in some smart play...i also read somewhere that had he been left for this years draft hed have gone top 5?.....time will tell on that but tonight he did ok and thats encouraging.

I was wrapt for Gardiner tonight - so often maligned at Girlong.....No he doesnt take the best defender well...but at St kilda...he wont have to....smart pick up.

did what he needs to do to earn the spot on the team really this was his last chance to play for an AFL club and hes soo far taken it with both hands and repayed the faith some what ... still very early though but if he keeps this up we may have pulled of an even bigger steal of the trade table

Charlie really impressed me tonight. Used the ball well, marked everything, contested and uncontested and provided a great target across half-forward and up the wing. Would love to see him, Kosi and Roo accross half-forward this year, 3 great options instead of one is going to be hard to beat, and with the likes of the G-Train, Milne, Schneider & Co, I honestly think we will have the most dangerous attack out of anyone. Bring on Geelong (or Melbourne)!

We appear to have a wealth of riches for our forward line this year...
Who is going to get a regular game in the forward line....

With Charlie Gardiner coming in at HFF, will this be our likely line-up?

FF Milne Gehrig Kosi
HF C. Gardiner Roo Harvey / X

If this was a likely forward starting line-up who else will be pushing for a slot?

I think M Gardiner has often gone forward to rest so that could add to our height... and make it difficult for other teams to match up...

"3 great options instead of one"

New game plan may take a few weeks to settle ..
But at least it will free up damaging players and lessen the over reliance on Gehrig .

Kosi able to settle to a permanent forward role ....

Schnider to be another Milne ... option to take pressure off Milne

Options , Options ,Options a luxury we havnt had .

soon we will be tested by a good side !!!

Then and only then will we see whats what !!

charlie actually got more possessions in the match last night than he has ever got before...his best effort prior to last night was in his last senior match for the handbag queens when he got 19 possessions.....

a while ago, someone told me to bookmark a thread where i said that charlie would suprise alot of people with how good he is.

i said that he would be the suprise package of the season for us and i think it may have been iceman that agreed... anyway... his skills are very good for a boy of his size, has good hands and is more than decent at ground level. not the hardest at the footy but will be a very useful forward foil on the flank for the likes of roo and kosi and the train.

i didnt bookmark that thread :(
