most journo's do not know how to ask questions.

most journo's ask closed ended questions, where the reply is either yes or know, or the journo's lead the answer to what they want.

eg you have a very good coach don't you? what is the footballer supposed to say? no?

Hey IIRC there are quite a few aspiring Journos on here, why don't we try and get in contact with the club to see if we could have a weekly player spotlight?
Do you think that the players would mind giving one of those forumites a call during the week just for a few minute article? Would be nice to get greater insight into the players, obviously we aren't going to ask any loaded questions to try and get Roo to admit he is going to the GC or anything like that, more light questions?
Would anybody else be interested in following this? do you think the club would approve?

I think something like that may have been mooted for saints central
BUt really some journos are so .......
I often listen and sportsmen can be talking something really interesting and the journo has an agenda and keep trying to get one question answered. which is why the Harry gregg intervie the other week was so good- they just let him talk
don't they realise they would learn more interesting things by not always trying to direct the conversation.

Lol, you're probably right...
I would expect it would meet my expectations atleast, I just want more articles that are up to date, and to gain better insite to the players...

On the whole interview thing, whatever happened to the players chat that use to happen each week? Lots of questions were answered with ease.

all players these days receive extensive training on how to talk to the media......basically be bright and cheerful but treat the pricks like mushrooms.....
