Stick Miles on Richo, it'll be one of his only chances to play on him.

Can someone please tell me what is wrong with Hayes, Gram, Ball (still OP i presume?), L.fish, Gilbert?

That word "rest" says to me something doesnt seem right.

Is there a chance some of these players will play on friday at the intra club? i guess even if they play a half it says they are on the way

I can understand about Kosi, Goddard, Gardiner and Ball to an extent, but id be hoping these guys at least play 1 game prior to the season, especially Gardiner

SAINTS FAVOURED TO WIN NAB CUP
Tuesday, February 5th, 2008 at 3:22 pmBY MARK OPOLION

FOOTYHEADS, Ross Lyon’s St Kilda side has been posted by TAB Sportsbet as the $6.00 favourite to win this year’s NAB Cup.

Geelong and Hawthorn are on the next line at $7.00.

Although veterans Robert Harvey and Fraser Gehrig are likely to be included in St Kilda’s lineup when the Saints play Richmond in Friday week’s pre-season opener, Lyon says nine of his club’s best 25 players will be watching from the sidelines.

“We’ll play everyone that’s available, but theoretically nine out of your best 25 will be missing,â€

“(Lenny) Hayes won’t play; (Jason) Gram won’t play; (Luke) Ball won’t play; Leigh Fisher won’t play; (Matt) Maguire won’t play; (Brendon) Goddard won’t play; (Sam) Gilbert won’t play … just because they’ve had a little hiccup along the way.

again...

just because they’ve had a little hiccup along the way.

FFS, ok so one cant over react, but at the same time....A ball hasnt been bounced in anger yet and this **** s*** is starting true to form again as per the last four years??!!

Personally I think its a good move. I would much rather have a fit and fired up side ready to go in round 1 than risk our "underdone" guys in what amounts to a televised practice game.

I agree. BUT, I find "hiccup" a little more concerning than "underdone". As presumptious as Im being...
