First match report - first crack at the Saints

Post: # 514697Post my les foote »

It didn't take Michael Gleeson at The Age very long to have a crack at the Saints in his article on the Dockers - Blues game

Carlton's St Kilda-like era of draft concessions meant the AFL's last three No. 1 draft picks were all on the field, with Kreuzer joining a short-haired Bryce Gibbs and a chunkier Marc Murphy who was the Blues' best player.
Carlton has spent five of the last six years in the bottom three compared to our three years from 2000 - 2002. In that time we finished with five wins or less only twice and had only two draft "concessions". Carlton has finished with five wins or less in five of the last six years. We pale in comparison to Carlton.

Richmond, Melbourne, Bulldogs and Hawthorn have all had two seasons with draft concessions since we last went there. But we don't hear about tiger-like concessions.

Win it for HIM!

Read that and was equally dissapointed, mlf. But such journalists have never been renowned for being a champion of facts.

Indeed, we've only ever had two priority picks, resulting in us getting Justin Koschitzke and Xavier Clarke.

It's been six and a half years since our last priority pick. Time to move on.

It's time for Carlton to move on also.

No doubt come mid-season when Judd is DEFINITELY ruled out for the season without playing a game it will become "Talking Tanking" yet again.

Memo to Dimwit in advance - please put in place mechanisms to stop tanking, as it does exist and WILL happen yet again in 2008.....

i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.
