19yo collapses at weekend training
Player from Cranbourne Football Club
Cause of death not yet known

A TEENAGE Australian Rules footballer has died during a club training session in Victoria's high country.

The 19-year-old Melbourne man collapsed and died today during a weekend training camp at Jamieson, near Eildon, about 200km northeast of Melbourne.

Police say the Cranbourne Football Club player was training on private property in The Sideling when he collapsed about 9.30am (AEDT).

Paramedics were called to the property but were unable to revive the man.

The cause of his death is not known.

The man was from Noble Park, but police have yet to release his identity.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner

a bit sad, but seems to happen every year.

Normally it's an undiagnosed heart problem, causing a heart attack.
