A few injury problems down at Geelong ....

Post: # 514317Post Oh When the Saints »

Matthew Scarlett has injured his knee and will miss 6 weeks.

Matthew Egan is having complications with his injury and will be unavailable for 2 months.

It doesn't take much. The competition is so close now that 2-3 players are the difference between a finish of 1st and a finish of 6th.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

exactly he played right throughout the home and away season and set them in good stead for the finals.

Won't matter. Their defense and midfield are good enough to keep them right up there until they get back.

riiiiiiight

take out scarlett and egan then a slow coach tom harley takes the first tall and an aging milburn takes the second

leaving the smaller forwards to run riot...

look what happened when we had no max and no goose...there is your answer

No doubt they will miss Scarlett and Egan if they aren't fit for round one, but if their midfield can keep up the same level of dominance as last year then Harley and Milburn will do just fine.

If they lose a couple of Bartel, Ablett, Corey, Chapman or Ling then they can start worrying.

They will both probably be back for round one, but we're St.Kilda supporters we know full well how much an interrupted pre-season can affect your players....

You would also expect them to drop a bit anyway without injuries aswell as most other teams to improve, I don't see them being the force they were in '07, I still think they will finish on top but I don't think they will take out the flag...
