ST KILDA, despite finishing in the bottom half of the ladder last season, has been the best-backed club to win the 2008 premiership.

thought it was very interesting that leading bookmakers seem keen on us

pehaps i should follow their lead and put a few bucks on us

That's good to hear, but it's not the bookmakers that are keen, it will have to be the punters

It is the punters St.Fid - they have been heavily backed by the big punters out there resulting in us being the most popular choice for the 2008 flag.

Tell the truth yipper !!

This BIG punter you talk of is yourself. I heard that you put the loose change that fell out of your pockets on the saints or was it all the graft you received from umpiring the forum match? !!

I have no comment to make!! That rumour is totally scurrillous. My lawyer - Mr David Galbally (legal aid of course!!) will be in touch... 8-)

not the first time in recent years we have been heavily backed for the flag.

IMO it's a bad thing, makes it harder for us to slip under the radar - if such a thing is ever possible for our club anymore!!!

i think it has more to do with our odds being fairly good and the turn around of geelong after a few years in the 8 then one out then flag
punters are creatures of habbit they like to think the same scenario plays out each year just the teams change hence the odd occourance of a bottom 8 team in the top 4 the next year phenominon

Damn...was hoping us to ease to $18 or so, and to load up from there.

However, having added quite a bit to our ranks, plus so many players coming back from injury, I'm not surprised to us so tight.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

It would be interesting to see how much money has been put down so far in total... also wonder how much research some of the bigger punters do?

I hope things are going almost as well as they seem to be....

we are being copied considering what geelong did in 2007...

its history it will never happen again but it is interesting that blind punters thing we can do it again ala geelong

Without a ball being bounced some stupid people are
piling cash on us :?

Its like asking where we will finish, will we win the flag, who will be our top players, i reckon so and so will win a Charlie, are we top 8 or 4 whos likely to shine etc etc etc

My answer is no one knowes to any of the above

Give it a rest

Pre-season champions again! THIS IS TERRIBLE NEWS.

04/05/06 were pre-season premiers

edited slightly for ease of reading.

04/05/06 were wrecked by injury to a large extent. also, back then, we didn't have a ruck division. now we have one and can afford to play kosi forward.

... but i know what you're getting at

So they should be IMO. I feel more confident this year of a flag than any other! I thought our game plan towards the end of last season was promising, and even though we were hampered with injuries, it was producing positive results.

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!
