mightysainters wrote:Daino: Kicked one of the biggest 70 metre torps you will see on a field... Not as high as goddards but an absolute monster.... he has a boot on him...
Fair Dinkum, not one St.Kilda player could kick better than that.

Daino was between the centre square and the wing about 5 metres forward of the centre on an AFL size ground

When he went back to line up for goal, one collingwood guy said" who the **** does this **** think he is"

I must admit I gave him no hope whatsoever of making the distance and fully expected a contested mark situation about 20 metres out from goal if he got onto one

got onto one

70 metres is being conservative

this kick was massive and cleared the pack rushing back to the goal line

truly amazing goal

even Anthony Rocca would have been struggling with that distance

Ilzy dominated as per usual along with 20 the guy from the fitzroy reds I thnk, mightysainters etc...etc...

when you win by nearly 30 goals it's fair to say there were a lot of good players

even I kicked 5 goals standing next to a goal post all day, just picking up the scraps

I thought the collingwood guys were great, they were getting pumped all day, 69 points down at 1/4 time but never gave up and never really complained, so congrats for that

perhaps next time they'll learn that to be competitive you need to include VFL players in your team

to be honest I thought the turning point in the game was when I scored my first goal in the second quarter, to put us about 14 goals up, the game was in the balance up until then

credit where credit is due 8-)

good stuff dools for organizing the game and to all those who attended

was worth coming just to watch joffa corte with tits out to disadvantage in the ruck

gees I've been smacked around in this thread,

I wear normal socks people  lol.

And not only did Daino kick that 75 metre torp (something I've seen him do in proper games countless times), but in the first quarter he cut off a pass coming out of defence and then played on and had a running shot from 55 that went a quarter of the way up the back net.

Big roost that boy, thats for sure!.

Illsy your a gun also, and mightysainters one of the best games I've seen from you.

That Sam bloke in midfield was great, as was number 26.

Chunx battled through, the Craw was reliable as always, and widdum gave us heaps.

Thanks to beekay and Lennyboy, who were contributing strongly in the first half, before converting to the dark side to help the pies with numbers in the second half.

As for me, plenty of touches, but again poor disposal lol.

2 goals 5 I think....grrr.

The Craw - If there was a FORUM FOOTY TEAM OF THE YEAR the backline would look like this -

B: The Craw The Craw The Craw

HB: The Craw The Craw The Craw

You are an inspiration to us all... ( no disrespect to everyone else who played backline you guys were all awesum too )

However, my goal and i think the teams goal next game is to get The Craw a GOAL!!!

As for the game from Sunday, great work everyone, the midfield was unbelievable, Mighty sainters with 50+ touches (20 in the last quarter at least), #20 absolute freak rucked awesome aswell, just was a magnet with the footy, - HD always in and under, Zody that run of the wing was first class, #26 just to quick and Daino just one word - UNIT, were all reliable as usual.

Good win!

P.S.

Barks your 5 goals, is that a PB??

absolutely.

I tried in the last quarter, he drifted into attack and I had a mark 25 out in the pocket (would have missed it for sure given my kicking for goal on sunday), so tried to pass to him floating forward but naturally shanked the pass too

im 99.99999999% sure he would have a jumper, the tshirt he was wearing has his name printed on it, and its black and white, so i think thats why he was wearing it.
