Nobody can dispute this. My support and belief in outright victory was projected from my cranium into the minds of every stkilda player. We won the game.

And yes, if the dome can hold what went on that night, I don't know why they are concerned about Victory standing on level 3, I remember jumping up and getting pushed down 3 rows, getting up and jumping again, hugging people I didn't know, If we don't win a flag in my lifetime... thats as close as the feeling I'll get!

The first time we played Richmond, going into the game I found a membership and pocketed it, I was sitting on the third level, at 3 quarter time the game was very tight, I had a look at the membership and saw it was a reserved seat, only problem was that it was at the other side of the stadium, I thought I would make the hike in hope of getting some good karma, handed it to the mother of the son who dropped it, to an accusing glance and an insincere thank you, we cam out and ran away with it in the last quarter

That brisbane game at the end of 05 I think it was, when we did them by 136 points or so, had to be one of my favorite fan-driven games. when the lions player conceded a behind in front of the cs, when Milney went for his 11th STRAIGHT. I knew it was going to be a good night when I was going across the bridge and there was a whole band blasting out our tune!!

i lost my voice in the last quarter, nearly fainted 8 times, and should of been rushed to hospital 3 times!
but i stayed on, abusing the ump, cheering on our boys, yelling out "KICK IT TO FIORA" or "KICK IT LONG UP THE GUTS", funny enough they didnt listen, but we still won and thats what matters at the end of the day!

I think we all live for that day Saint Bev. My father was there in '66 & one of my best friends got to experience that feeling last year. . I can't think of a time where I have "willed" the team over the line. Certainly gave it my best shot in '04 & '05.

OK..I will admit now..I have actually COST the Saints a game I think

Round 8(?) 2000 v Bulldogs at TD..yes the game where Max broke down after the siren.

You may remmeber that free tickets were available via a couple of Doggies sponsors, so I was on Level 2, Row A, right above the Bulldogs reserved seat holders.

At halftime things were grim, but we roared back into the match in the 3rd quarter, lead by an insprational term by Aussie as I recall. At 3/4 time I have, with a burst of euphoria sensing our first win for the season, leant over the Level 2 railing and screamed "ITS ALL GONE A BIT QUIET DOWN THERE!!!" to the Doggies seat holders below. My friends berated me for perhaps speaking a touch too hastily, but I was supremely confident the 4 points were ours

We rest is history and I unreservedly apologise. I must make my peace with Max sometime lol

I can remember a game against Geelong I think it was in '06 where we were getting beaten pretty convincingly, but in the fourth quarter we piled on the goals and I don't think I've ever heard the crowd be as loud as they were then. (it was the game where everybody thought Riewoldt kicked a goal, but it actually hit the post) We ended up losing the game but it was still unbelievable to be there. This as well as the game where Milney scored 11 are standout games.

God I miss footy.

We had a supastistion, for some reason whenever we turned the loungeroom light on we would win and kick a run of goals (the last 10 rounds)

We were down by 30 points- quick turn the light on

We win by 5 goals.

It had to be us. I was not home on the day of the Grand final so i couldnt turn the light on- sorry guys we also lost us the grand final!!! for not having the light on.

We tried to continue it on in 1998- but not luck, we now dont do it all. But we really thought that we were the ones that got us to the 1997 flag

ok i might have cost us a game against essendon a year or two back.. it was early days but we'd gotten off to a good start..we were sitting behind a bomber fan and we'd just kicked another goal so just to be an idiot and annoy the fan in front i screamed SMASH EM!! in his ear ..i think it all went downhill from there. sorry guys.

i remember milneys 11 in so much detail. i remember saying pre game milney needed two goals for 50 for the year.. he got them pretty early n i felt we were in for a big win. he broke his record for number of goals in a game with 7 just after half time and i remember saying "wow milney could kick 10!" nothing beats the feeling of chanting his name with the rest of the crowd while watching him line up for his tonne. ahh i felt clowds above wearing 44 on my back after that sweet victory.

i was at the social club at the semi final v adelaide, that was awesome being with the other passionate sainters who hadnt been able to make the trip over. i remember Dal giving that sweet pass to harvs to line him up for goal n mum saying oh god harvs oh no he's not the best kick for goal. but i was confident n reassured her that it was Robert Harvey and we were in good hands. surely enough, the ball sailed straight through the sticks, and that feeling matched the one i'd had the week before.

and if schwarze had missed that goal i'd probably be responsible because when he got his hands on it n started lining it up i was like WHAT ARE YOU DOING DONT KICK IT FROM THERE!. but ahh how he proved me wrong, i was level 1 right where he kicked from but in row U so i couldnt see if he'd kicked it but the crowd noise was enough to know he'd sealed the match. so instead i was shouting "OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU TROY I'LL NEVER DOUBT YOU AGAIN I LOVE YOU!!" haha that noise was just incredible because i couldnt even hear myself scream those words. but that win was awesome, i was hi five-ing people i didnt know and celebrating with anyone wearing the red white and black.

those 3 matches are probably the most memorable but they're all a few years ago now. 2006 and 7 were a little less exciting years but lets hope 2008 is the start of something great. oh and my lucky saints socks were the reason for our 10 straight in 2004..however i threw them out not long after, big mistake

Last time was against the pies at the G this year. First game for my 5yo, who by then has had his interest piqued by the endless array of junk food, the weather highlighting Melbourne's wonderful winter weather (10 degree and raining - liveable my arse!) and the seats just out of the rain.

Fraser boots one after a minute in the last to give us what should be a pretty unassailable lead. I leap to my feet with freezing sugared up 5 and 7 year olds to celebrate the season-defining win I could see coming our way.

You all know how the story ends. Thankfully the 5yo still looks back fondly on the crowded train trip back and the junk food and proclaims his love for the saints.


The moral of story? DON'T GET HAPPY DURING A GAME UNLESS YOU ARE LEADING BY ABOUT 20 GOALS. So I don't. Happy banter is a killer people.

In the past when we've looked like a monty but the opposition has kicked a few quick ones (in what is apparent may very well be the start of a 3rd or 4th quarter fade-out), there is that gaspy-moan that goes around the ground that means "oh no, here we go again!"... I'm sure that vibe goes through everyone on the ground (opposition included!). It cant help.

I worry when people start singing the song too early too.

Last year.
I shook hands with dal at training. had a chat to him, and said "Good luck." few other words of encouragement.
The next game, he was Best on Ground and we also won that game.

I'm convinced that I had some sort of influence on his game.
Was probably thinking. "I have fan's like that kid that talked to me the other day. This is for him."
I'm pretty sure I got him over the line that time.
