Stupid footy bets...

Post: # 507629Post fingers »

Interested in stupid football related bets that people have taken. I have an idiot Blues supporter at work who has bet me that the blues will make the top 4 in 2008 AND will win the flag in 2009. If I win (and I am thinking I will) I get lunch at the restaurant of my choice. Looks like another $1500 lunch bill :)

Anyone else got similar examples of complete idiocy?

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

Not a bet but a very very foolish call that I am still trying to live down.

"Mark McGough will be the recruit of the year"

There, I've said it & any credibility that I have on Saintsational is gone forever (& rightfully so).

Stupid Footy bets..

Me at primary school where I bet on each Blues match with a Blues supporter who knew a sucker when they saw one......though the upside is that this continual losing is probably why I don't gamble now

Last grand final, i proceeded to polish off the best part of a bottle of bourbon. Late in the game, I logged into my sportsbet account to find to my surprise that they'd left the odds for the cats on at $3.60. i quick put the remaining balance of my account (which was only $10) on them, only to find the odds were actually for the 2008 season!!!

In 2004 I bet $5 on Grammy to win the Brownlow. All he needed were about 21 more votes and I would have won $51000!

My stupid bet was that last year saints would make top8 and my bombers friend would have to wear this hot pink dress and heels down to the beach if i won. My friend said the bombers would make it and said if he won i have to wear his bombers jumper for a whole day.

To my surprise we both lost. However before agreeing to the bet we said if both teams didnt make it, then we would both do our dares.

Lets just say i wasnt the one that got the most stares!

Go saints in '09!
