pies lost their half a million dollar sponsorship with TAC. was on TEN, whilst watching the part on saints... i must say, eddie was talking about how this would jeopardise some jobs, which i feel quite sorry about. but then he talked about how they had to reorgansie their budget, and i just laughed at him...the less money the actual club gets, the happier everyone is.

Collingwood pleaded with TAC to allow them to do it Eddie's way. The bottom line is that TAC had already decided that they would discontinue their relationship with Collingwood well before Eddie put his spin on the announcement !!Ghost Like wrote:Handled very well and very professionally by Collingwood, especially after the corner they had boxed themselves into after the Morrison episode.
Eddie would be fuming behind the scenes.

Yep one would think that most would see through that spin doctoring for what it's worth...Eastern wrote:Collingwood pleaded with TAC to allow them to do it Eddie's way. TAC should have given Collingwood the flick ages ago IMO...
You just can't have one rule for Richmond and another for Collingwood
Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear, run down there and light the bloody thing yourself!

Interesting how it required 3 people to park the car to avoid a parking fine.
So an intoxicated male knew he was in a timed parking spot at 3am and it needed 3 people to help move it to another spot.
Sounds like Holland? with the whole I was sitting in the car and it wasn't moving story a few years back

lucky the Police didn't do a search of the car, you never know what kind of goodies they might have found....Eastern wrote:Of course Lance was there. It was HIS car !!SENsaintsational wrote:Strike me lucky! Lance was there? It wasn't 3 am was it?
All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.
If The Police searched his car, it would have been a Sting operation.The_Dud wrote:lucky the Police didn't do a search of the car, you never know what kind of goodies they might have found....Eastern wrote:Of course Lance was there. Here's a left-field theory for you:
Collingwood wanted to get out of what is a restricting sponsorship. I’ve heard a few people out of Richmond privately say they were happy their TAC sponsorship ended because of the scrutiny the company would put on them for driving indiscretions.
They reckon the TAC was too overbearing.
McGuire would have dozens of huge companies who would happily jump into TAC’s place and may even pay more $$$.
I’m thinking they were just looking for a way out of the sponsorship and seized this chance.
If I were a Collingwood supporter (and I shudder just typing those words), I wouldn’t be so much concerned that we’d just lost a sponsor as I would that one of our young players is hanging out with Lance Franklin.

Maybe the T.A.C. will look at St.K. as a safe club
It could help the Saints begin to bridge the multi-million dollar gap that the likes of West Coast and Collingwood have at their disposal to plough into player development.
Still glad that our Saints are avoiding the punishing glare of misdeamenours that the press adore.
