grounds to play on???? (forum games)
theres a few people thinking about having another saintsational game, this time on the 20th of Jan vs the Pies.
there was a lot of winging last time when we played on glenferrie, so its been suggested we move grounds, (although glenferrie is a bit greener because of the flooding the week before christmas.)
thinking about that paddock that the pies train on, because that is right next to all public transport, but when i drove past there today there were soccer goals up and no footy, but i would hope that would change by the 20th as the pies start back training about the 7th.
if people have any suggestions for a new home ground that would be awesome!
and is the 20th of Jan looking good for people?
thanks!

Moorabbin?
Surely the club would let you have the ground for a couple of hours, especially if people agreed to wear runners instead of footy boots ...
Balwyn might still have the goal posts up if anyone lives nearby and can be bothered checking ... it's normally in good condition ...

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

and no, ive asked moorabbin before and they said that there would be no probs with it except we are in a drought and they are trying to keep the oval as green as possible, and that means only staff and players are allowed on

Don't believe the 'Ground Damage' story that keeps getting fed out... it's all about public liability... always has and always will be.saintdooley wrote:which oval at balwyn? Deepdene Park or Balwyn Oval?Oh When the Saints wrote:Moorabbin?

Elgar Park (corner of Belmore and Elgar Rds in Box Hill) is in terrific condition apparently, and still has the footy goal posts up on the far oval ...
It's 2 mins from the Eastern Fwy and you can get a bus down Belmore Rd, but train/tram is a good 20-25 mins walk.
