Ross Smith was one of our greatest NON South Australian players.

As for our greatest South Australian, where do you start?

Kitschke, Cowie, Faletic, Slattery, Hewitt, Atkinson, Healy, Begley, David Grainger, Geoff Linke.. the list goes on.

Win it for HIM!

What sort of place is this SA, where 60% of the population (based on your random sample) have names ending in "ee":

Kitschke (ee)
Cowie (ee)
Faletic
Slattery (ee)
Hewitt
Atkinson
Healy (ee)
Begley (ee)
David Grainger
Geoff Linke (ee).

At first glance, it appears we did far better from West Australian Footballers.

I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.

I think you may may be confusing the little champ with "Rohan Smith" the bald bloke who played a few games in '91.

What about Doug Cox? Looked very promising at first.

We went to court to keep him, then he slapped us in the face and went to Richmond.

I am still hurting from 71;
my gut churns thinking of 97;
2009 was agony,
2010a was a pleasure to watch only to be devastated by 2010 b.
It hurts barracking for the Saints

Originally from South Mildura. Came to St Kilda via West Torrens however Richmond claimed he was zoned to them because he was from Mildura.

Went to Essendon after St Kilda I think.

We have got SFA from SA.

Sam Fisher would have to be No. 1.

Don't know if he was our greatest, but Gilbert McAdam was certainly a favourite.

Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

Surely Darryl Wakelin is the better player at this stage.

Played at CHB. Won a premiership (elsewhere unfortunately). 260 games.

And where would Tim Watson's kick out after a point plan have been without him? It was codenamed "Kick it to Darryl".

My greatest ever claim to fame. I am the man (boy at the time) that made that sign. I originally put it over the boundary fence but it covered advertising signage so (after being told to remove it) moved it onto a vertical wall between the terrace and the stand proper down towards the scoreboard end.

The sign came home with me on the bus to Southland but got left on the bus for reasons I don't remember. I do remember holding it up across the back window on the way home (a long trip as it took fore-ever to get out then also to cross Springvale Road/Dandenong Road on Police Road).

We also got beaten after a promising start !!

Originally the sign was to read "Hands of our Cox" but my Mum thought that was too rude (and would not have helped me make it).
