St.Kilda V Kangaroos rd11 on Fox Sports Now
Well I'm up agains watching another saints replay, don't know why I'm bothering they make me so dam angry
Is it too much to ask for some decent entry into the forward 50?!!?!
Gehrig could have kicked 3 in a minute if the delivery was better and he didn't have one perfectly clean mark disallowed, if I were him I would have retired as well, but I don't think I would've come back
I don't think that Raph is cut for AFL, he just can't read the play and can't get himself into the game... Gwilt is good for depth only and Hayes needs to learn to have more penetrating kicks, in the first quarter he had 7 forward 50 entries? sounds quite impressive but he lobbed every one of them and gave every defender a chance to get to the contest....
I'm begining to think that Dal on the HFF/Mid might be the role for him, honestly he is the only player who can hit a target.... (Apart from the great man
There is on positive, Gilbert is a star, an absolute star, I don't really notice his defensive work at the game, I usually only take not of his dashing attack but this guy is a gem, he will be a 250+ gamer for us unless injury dictates otherwise, he will be (if he is not already) good enough to hold down the second forward aswell as being incredibly effective on the rebound... IMO our backline is beginning to look very solid with the way that the game is going, now that the gorilla full forwards are slowly dying out having a balanced defense is becoming so important and that is something I believe we will have...
P.S.... Kudos to Attard, the guy tries and tries, I like that bloke!!

Yeah that is what made this such a frustrating match to watch, at the stadium I wanted to leave (I just couldn't, could never leave a match early), but it just never looked like we were going to win and it seemed pointless watching such a frustrating game...Saints Premiers 2006 wrote:it was just a terrible match
probably the worst thing about it is that we were always within touch of getting back even...the margin was always 3-4 goals
the umpires are shizen
Luke Ball is incredible, he is still a very good midfielder regardless of OP, I can only imagine what he could do to our midfield if he returned to full fitness...

I thought for most of Round 8 we had a real crack.homework wrote:I thought round 8 was our worst matchHarveysDeciple wrote:I actually felt at the time, with all due respect to the roos, that that was our worst performance of the season.
Kangaroos didn't play that well but we just absolutely never fired a shot.
We should have been murdered that day with the team we put on the park, and sure the game was uguly but with 3 debutants and 23 fit players to pick a side from we took up to a hawks team that finished well into september.
Round 11 we were just plain shithouse.

agreed...we were close enough for the majority of the game tooHarveysDeciple wrote:I thought for most of Round 8 we had a real crack.homework wrote:I thought round 8 was our worst matchHarveysDeciple wrote:I actually felt at the time, with all due respect to the roos, that that was our worst performance of the season.

You're absolutely right, I would have been so embarassed to be a Hawthorn supporter after round 8, that was a deplorable result on their behalf... but IMO some credit should have gone to RL, I believe he played a strategy that would deliberately keep scores low, the only thing that stopped us from getting flogged IMO, if it was a game of free flowing footy I have no doubt we would have be SLAUGHTERED!!HarveysDeciple wrote:I thought for most of Round 8 we had a real crack.homework wrote:I thought round 8 was our worst matchHarveysDeciple wrote:I actually felt at the time, with all due respect to the roos, that that was our worst performance of the season.

Round 8 was just one of those days, the team just couldn't gel together, to many doing too few, it seemed we only had a few players that wanted to play and still they were pretty ordinary...
The only good thing about this game were the 50+ meter goals from Gilbert and Attard....

The Hawks game was excusable since we had so few players to choose from. We kept it tight for three quarters only to get blown away in the last. However the Kangas game was just deplorable. We were too scared to attack, and we couldn't even hit targets.

yeh the kangas game was poor we didnt peform to our best but credit to the roos they shut us down from the word go but ive never held them highly as a classy unit yes they do play the game and they play it well but they dont have any flar to there game. they dont seem to have many players that can just ignite but they play together and they not only play for the club name they play for each other thats why id be so sad to see them go to the gold coast because they would lose all that they would lose the shinboner spirit in my opinion but back to the topic we play s**t that day against the kangas no stand outs and no flare

Finally, someone who agrees. I watched the Saints V Richmond Game (The first one for 07, forget the round) and Raph was just out of it. Took a couple of good marks but was very slow and only seemed to be in the right spot by accident. I am sure the kid has talent, but he is yet to prove to me it is enough to play at AFL level.Armoooo wrote:

When we had to pick Howard for this game, I knew we were going to lose like the Hawks game. Nothing against him personally, but again our depth was so poor against the Roos, we were always going to be up against it. Our 2nd worst team for the year and our worst loss. The Hawks game was excusable since we had so few players to choose from. We kept it tight for three quarters only to get blown away in the last. However the Kangas game was just deplorable. We were too scared to attack, and we couldn't even hit targets.
