Is a consistant team effort not relying on to few.
What's on ur wish list other than a premiership?
Dal to break tags more freely
players to run out 4 qtrs
more 1 percenters
better functioning forwardline

Some Good signs from our young players, 4 or 5 out of our last 2 years draftees looking like they have a future in the AFL... I am expecting this from Armitage, Allen, Geary and McEvoy... not expecting them to have any real impacts, just to show something....
I would also love to see an empty St.Kilda injury list...

I would expect Schneider and Milne to kick 30 each, Roo to kick 45 and Kosi to snag about 60, that's a fairly decent effort, I would be surprised if we could get any other 20+ goal scorers....
I would like to see Hayes, Ball, Goddard, Gram, Dal, Monty and Xavier scoring on a fairly regular basis...

I back Xavier to kick about 20... he gets into the right positions he just needs execution.Armoooo wrote:I would expect Schneider and Milne to kick 30 each, Roo to kick 45 and Kosi to snag about 60, that's a fairly decent effort, I would be surprised if we could get any other 20+ goal scorers....

Goddard and Gram both kicked around 15 goals a piece in 2006, if we can get a fully fit side those guys can unleash from the flanks and become more dangerous around goals.

The following players to play 25 games:
Max Hudghton, Sam Fisher, Lenny Hayes, Luke Ball, Nick Dal Santo, Nick Riewoldt, Justin Koschitzke, Steven King.
If that happens, we are going to be very close.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

If we just have one player who plays 25, we've had a good yearOh When the Saints wrote:The following players to play 25 games:

We must have some kids make an impact, gilbert style in 08.
Armo and Geary are the two I think should play 8-12 games this year at least which is what we need.
Allen is another who could do big things.
We need a stable back 6, a relatively settled group each week, and I prey we don't have the need to drop a ruckmen on form at any stage.

The Clarke brothers to be as important to us as the Burgoynes are to Port.
Our back 6 of Raph, Max, Sam, Goose, Gram and the Dumpstar settled, injury free and dominant.
Goddard tp gain some confidence in the first half of the year and dominate the second half.
Minimum of six AA nominations.
Two kids (under 21) establish themselves in the 22.
Kosi to add another 20+ games to his career.
Roo to be given licence, much like James Hird or Chad Cornes.
A brownlow around Dal's neck.

- Less Injuries
- Being able to play out the 4 quarters
- More goals from players other than Gehrig and Riewoldt
- Some game time into our younger players such as Armo and Geary
- To be more competitive in the ruck
- Clarke brothers to fulfill their potential
- The return of Goddard, Lenny and Ball to their best form, whenever that may be into the season
- Greater execution of the game plan

All I want to see next year is good old-fashioned honest hard toil on and off the field, and the guys having a fair dinkum 4 quarter dip come match day.
No more final quarter fade-outs next year please gents - we lost far too many premiership points through this last season.
Get that right, and given the depth of talent that we have, we'll be a HUGE chance come finals time IMHO.

Best, most concise and valid post I've read for ages I reckon.
I hope, I'm sure the coaching staff are stressing this very message.
As good as our 2nd half of the season was last year, as much talent and guts as our list has - we really need to learn to play four quarters.
And we desperately need to learn how to have a real dip.
At times this year we were soft and didn't want it as much.
I would love that to change.

Thanks Quixote.
I don't think it's asking too much of the guys to have a more consistent go.
Look at the Roos and the Pies - they showed us a thing or 2 about 4-quarter efforts last season, and just how far it can take you...and I do believe we have a much greater depth of talent on our list than either of those 2 teams.
I think with our new fitness and conditioning staff we can expect a more consistent effort next year, and IF our injury toll stays under control, we can probably expect to see a more stable nucleus to our team that will go a long way to giving us this more consistent effort.
APPLICATION - on AND off the field is the one thing I want to see from our boys next year - I think the rest will pretty much take care of it's self if we can only just get this bit right.
Fingers crossed anyway eh....?
