Do you know who's got them ?

our most famous number. baldock, lockett, breen, thommo ... also a few duds. who would get it next?Sobraz wrote:4 not taken?? how does it work for signiicant numbers.. would 4 be offered to someone, or is it up for grabs??
i would have thought gilbert as the other guys such as roo, dal, kosi, etc have pretty much already made their numbers their own while gilbert's relatively new in the game.
has it been retired, i wonder?

Plugger66 thanks for the update. It's always appreciated.
Do we know what numbers have been given to Dempster and Charlie Gardiner yet?
Sorry if I missed it in a previous post.

I am still hurting from 71;
my gut churns thinking of 97;
2009 was agony,
2010a was a pleasure to watch only to be devastated by 2010 b.
It hurts barracking for the Saints

Exactly right. Thommo may have started in 14 as well (can't really remember now) but I remember Burkey playing in number 29. Anyone remember Kosi and X-man's numbers before they inherited the numbers they now wear?St.M wrote:Didn't big tony make #14 his 'own' before changing to #4 after all; he had played 80 games, won a brownlow and kicked 300 goald (117 in 1987)

so does mini keep #32?
golly plugger66 you left us more questions than answers
Kosi was 24 before he became 23
X was 20 befpore he became 3
Bakes was 29 before he became 10
Grammy was 15 before he became 1
Harves was 52 before 35
Joey was 28 before 11
saintspremiers- the photos on the saints site were updated early this year- apart from the new guys and as usual its around the time the guys are THE hairdos or the Preseaon ' what style will we go this year' ;look
or the 'oh no here comes the photographer again' look.
no doubt the new ones will be up around April again- although march would be good- when they do the photography for the team photo and the photos they sell.

true. plugger had to earn the famous No. 4.St.M wrote:Didn't big tony make #14 his 'own' before changing to #4 after all; he had played 80 games, won a brownlow and kicked 300 goald (117 in 1987)
i still remember the picture of doc, who was coach at the time, handing it over to him.
i think breen also played quite a few games wearing another number before inheriting 4.
he kicked his wobbly point wearing something else (was it 27? someone here will know).
so there is a precedent for it going to someone who has earned his stripes ... perhaps kosi, roo or dal santo should take it.

Kosi wont take it, that would be the ultimate insult to Stewie Leowe....bigcarl wrote:true. plugger had to earn the famous No. 4.St.M wrote:Didn't big tony make #14 his 'own' before changing to #4 after all; he had played 80 games, won a brownlow and kicked 300 goald (117 in 1987)

Out of our established players I would say that Sammy Fisher would be the most likely, but personally I reckon they might use it as an incentive for our younger players to try and achieve...
ROBERT HARVEY A.K.A The Great Man, Banger, Harves, Ol' Man River...
