Tassie - how much did that nett them?

How much more per game was it than what we got?
I believe they get $500,000 per game 4 games = $2mill, 6 games $3 mill

The stands must have been worth a sh|tload on our books if we keep writing them down.

I would suspect the hiring of Matthew Drain, David Misson, the new club doctor and physio and John Peake would all have added to increased football expenditure in 2007 as well ...

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Until we see 'published results' we won't really know what they have/haven't done.
It may be as simple as the Club having spent money on upgrading facilities a few years ago, anticipating 'writing them off' over a ten year period, and now with the decision to move to Frankston they may have brought that 'writing off' process forward?

It really makes no difference to the actual running of the Club only to the 'perception' of what the financial performance is.

Money talks

Victorian clubs' 2007 profits and losses

Carlton: $2.94 million
Collingwood: $2.027 million
Essendon: $2.014 million
Geelong: $1.87 million
Hawthorn: $3.603 million
Kangaroos: $114,000
Melbourne: $96,689
Richmond: $1.031 million
Western Bulldogs: $534,214
St Kilda: expected loss about $300,000

So Melbourne, Norda Melbourne amd Foot is grey actually made a loss when you consider the handouts given by the AFL

That's funny.

How about we all remember that the missing $700,000 from this year, is due to actions from this year and years gone by.

And just as 'funny' - remember all the income streams from this year and previous years as well.

Surely you don't want to just remember the negatives and not the positives?

Can't remember the figure, but I believe a very large chunk of the Hawthorn figure for '07 is the result of the sale of the Social Club across from Glenferrie oval.

IIRC, I believe there's another 1-off in their '07 as well, but the Hawks are very well set up to enter a period of prosperity having gone through some challenging times in recent years.

I don't care to remember anything relating to the previous Board, or previous years.

They're gone. Move on.

What's so wrong with remembering negatives and positives of previous administrations?
Unless of course you only don't want to remember any positives?
You seemed quick enough to comment in this thread when you had a negative point to make about them.

They failed. They cost us a flag, and now we're paying financially for their errors.

Move on. Look forward.

Hawthorn made approximately 600k from the sale of Glenferrie, and received another 300k as their last special payment from the Waverley deal (we had stopped receiving ours last year).

Both of those were "one-off" payments, totalling nearly a million bucks.

Their sponsorship deal with Tasmania (which includes major sponsorship and money for playing games there) is worth $2m per year.

Shame really..

66 was a good year..

The streak was a lot of fun..

I really enjoyed that night GF win over the Blues...

That PF win over the Roos is an all time favourite....

I even loved GT thaumping his chest and hugging Bally after that Swans match....

Distant, insignificant memories.

Apart from 66 of course, but I wasn't even close to being alive for that one.
