Robert Harvey and The New Boys - The Age

Not that old man Harvs isn't used to such banter — it was well documented that last year he played against youngsters who were not even born when he began his career in 1988. But this year throws up another mini-AFL milestone (one to make us oldies feel even older) in that last Saturday's draft heralded the arrival on the league scene of the first players born in the 1990s.

Now that makes ME feel old.

I was something around 8-10 years old when these boys were born.

I'm super jealous - wish I had been able to go there.

Never even went to Moorabbin.

I've had some shitty moorabbin experiences. Certainly more 'fun' as a child than the Dome though.

Now if there was a photo of Harvs with our new boys, i might just have a new avatar.

I agree with you Otiman, I just had a flash back to my Dad trying to get out of that bloody car park and all my cousins hanging the Pies scarves out of the window and here i was trying to hide under the dash board of the old HQ.

Dad always took us kids to the Saints and the Pies games but cant remember many good times down at Moorabbin

Stick with them son they will win one day, Dad used to say and then the rest of the family would start laughing there bloody heads off and I would end up in tears, fun times had by all NOT!

I can recall beating Collingwood at Moorabbin, one time when Plugger tackled Daicos into the point post and it fell over.

AND don't get us started on what the arrival of Western Bulldogs pair Jarrad Grant and Jarrad Boumann does to the list of players with first names that sound like theirs but are spelt in all sorts of ways. You see, there are now three Jareds, four Jarrads, one Jarard, one Jarred, one Jarrod and three Jarryds. Maybe they should all meet up with new Adelaide draftee Jarrhan Jacky and ask him if he wants to be a member of their club
the Saints have their own 'J' Squad
JARRYD- Allen
JARRYN Geary
JAYDEN Attard

JASON Blake
JASON Gram
JAMES Gwilt
and
JUSTIN Koschitzke

With the exception of Ben Reid from this year, this years lot are the first group to be younger than me...now thats kinda scary.

Note that our playing list stops at S.

There is no player on our list with surname starting with T-Z.

Perhaps our recruiting department goes in alphabetical order.
