we are an undeniably passionate flock

its interesting how i never hear about other clubs more well-known supporters and them mentioning other clubs in the media

you always hear about celebrities and their passion for the saints

Many of the choir members would frequent the Sacred Heart Mission which is one of the groups the Saints support
and Fraser is one that spends time volounteering their time

Watched it last night...two of the guys went on a bender the night before and had to be sent home. Feel sorry for all of them. Good show though...oh and what does this have to do with the Saints again?

Saintsational Fan Forum
it's about Saints fans, people willing to show their support of the Saints?
nowhere does it say that ONLY football topics can be placed here-

as some do by posting on here others do so by wearing their saints colours where ever they are able.

General to me is things other than football /Saints.

I am probably in the minority here.....but I personally wish there was another Section on the Site.

One for fooball discussion: ie tactics, drafts, matches, training etc

One for fan stuff: clash jumpers, whose hot, players birthdays, autographs. memorabilia, cheersquad, membership, coordinating travel etc etc

One for truly non-saints issues = General.

My hope:

- St Kilda forum (for everything St Kilda)
- AFL forum (for AFL and/or other club discussion)
- Acland Street forum (for the junk threads & a 'probationery' spot for banned posters)
- General forum.

If we need to create space:

-> Scrap the Saintsational Fantasy Football League board (put on general forum)
-> Scrap the Saintsational Web board.

=================

Would solve a lot of problems. These ideas have worked well elsewhere and would be good for us.

given the speed pages of SS are dissappearing it may all be a mute question- :(

history now only goes back to July
Goto page 1, 2, 3 ... 62, 63, 64 Next
use to go back about 150 pages.

one of the reasons I dont go to Big footy is there are too many options
- on here you know that looking at the Fan forum pages you get a wide range and can then choose your threads to look at.

Agree with all of the above, but shouldn't the Ackland - Street forum be dedicated to the discussion of dud ruckmen?

BTW - "probationary"

Well yes you can have too many....but I think we have too few.

With really just the two forums "lines" (ie Sainst and General)...and really just the one on St Kilda it means that posts disappear off the front page ata rapid rate "in-season".

This leads often to many re-posts as people don't to look back one page.

The current "one-string Saints" are means that it is very much a "trash & treasure" approach.

One persons trash is anothers treasure.......but the current onestring-all in approach often means that you have to look at alot of posts that you are not really interested in as post titles are not always accurate.

ie GTrain Serves It Up......

Could be about him kicking 10 goals.......or the latest menu at his restaraunt...

I don't think we need BigFooty's vast array.....but I think one more sring-line (even if it replaced one of the others as mentioned by Everton) would:

*make the site easier to use
*make it more relevant ..whatever the taste of your footy posting is (and of course people would and could use both).

Agreed, but we are at the mercy of the owner of the forum, and change is not very high on his agenda.

I quite agree with these sediments but regarding my post ...

... I only posted the image as I thought that there were would probably be a few people 'mildly' interested ... I believed that it would be down the bottom of the front page by the next morning and forgotten by now.

... it appears to have opened up discussion that is relevant to the forum and I take points from the various views - I will just add one myself.

Although we are all forced to wade through a minefield of various posts that we may call 'junk' because its not what we as individuals are looking for or feel that is not within the realms of our personally perceived intellect, SS has become a very popular forum that is a must read for St Kilda online fans. There have been recent changes to moderate this ‘Fan Forum’ and keep it on track and although the moderators have probably offended some, generally I find it much easier to navigate now.

Nevertheless, I think that there is a fine line between properly organised discussion and sterilisation.

We are all required to open countless posts that are not interesting to us because they are not properly named but although it’s a good idea to keep alerting posters to this, I believe that we will always find that new and/or over excited posters will continue this trend.

Sorry about putting the pic on the wrong page – to me SS is ‘Saintsational Fan Forum’ and I often forget that there is a general forum – I would have been quite happy to see this thread moved to the general forum and may have not even noticed it gone.

No problem Peanut....and as the the forum is currently constructed....this string is as good as any as it stands for your post.

I was just stirring the pot to create some thought and healthy debate as I personaly would like a string which is a bit tighter in focus on players and football.....and hence also a second new "fan" string which would also be tighter in focus.

Others may well prefer the staus quo.....

Worth at least talking about I feel???????????????????
