first pick, ben mcevoy.
We rated Ben 2nd pick. Great endurance. King coming to the end. Gardiner unreliable. Starting the ruckman project a few years ahead. 3 years development required.
Ben is very coordinated.
Pick 42. Jack Steven. Interesting one. Bottom age, just made draft age. Peake noticed him earlier in the year. He developed well through the year. Got speed, endurance. Can kick goals. Likened to Paul Chapman.
Pick 57. Fraser Gehrig. Peake hasnt spoken to him. Is he wanted at stkilda, yes. Ross spoke to him. Peake believes his body has a couple of years left. In his mind maybe one or two.
Pick 70. Eljay Connors. Dashing, quick, left footer wingman. Very impressive early. Got injured so went off radar. Bevo and Peak continued to watch him when he continued.
Quality of draft. Cream is always good. The draft was rather shallow. These boys will take a bit longer.
Heath of the club. pretty good. everyones up and about except for matt maguire with the foot fractures.
no calls?

I think what peake said was...
#2 Ruckman in the draft, behind Kreuzer
" I am a loyal person and at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know I am a St Kilda person for life. That was something that has heavily influenced my decision.â€

I think they wanted HENDERSON...
I think they wanted HENDERSON...did you see our recuiters reaction when Brisbane took HENDERSOn directly before us. I got the impression that he was whom the SAINTS would have taken at #9 if available...
SAINTS another day older another day closer to the Holy Grail!

i didnt see it...how did you?WinnersOnly wrote:I think they wanted HENDERSON...did you see our recuiters reaction when Brisbane took HENDERSOn directly before us. I got the impression that he was whom the SAINTS would have taken at #9 if available...
wouldnt be too surprised...Henderson had been very strongly linked with us for quite a while...glad we went with the ruckman
from memory we did pause for a good minute before picking though
similar thing happened last year as well. i have a no doubt we wanted Joel Selwood and needed to relook our lists when he was picked two in front of us.

We would have rated Kreuzer No1 for St Kilda because we were after a ruckman as priority.....n1ck wrote:I wonder who we rated #1 then... Kreuzer or Cotchin? Or someone else?SaintBot wrote:he said something like we rated ben 2nd pick...i thinkn1ck wrote:McEvoy rated #2 in the whole draft?

we would have taken him him at 1... doesn't necessarily mean we rated him at 1supersaints wrote:We would have rated Kreuzer No1 for St Kilda because we were after a ruckman as priority.....n1ck wrote:I wonder who we rated #1 then... I would have thought that we may have rated McEvoy number 2 of the players we may have been a chance of getting. In other words we wouldnt have included Kreuzer and one or two others because we were no hope of getting them.skeptic wrote:we would have taken him him at 1... doesn't necessarily mean we rated him at 1supersaints wrote:We would have rated Kreuzer No1 for St Kilda because we were after a ruckman as priority.....n1ck wrote:I wonder who we rated #1 then...
