Austinn Jones joins the Power
The Gippsland Power has appointed ex-St Kilda star Austinn Jones as its coach for season 2008 in the TAC Cup.
Jones replaces Adrian Hickmott, who is now an assistant coach at Essendon and Bendigo Bombers coach.
In addition to coaching, Jones will also head-up the Power’s talent programs as the club’s full-time development manager.
Recruited from the Dandenong Stingrays, Jones played 204 games for St Kilda from 1994 to 2005 and in 1997 was awarded All-Australian honours and Victorian State of Origin selection.
Since retiring from the AFL, Jones has been the playing coach of the Narre Warren Football Club achieving back to back premierships in 2006/07.
AFL Victoria wishes Austinn all the best on the start of his TAC Cup coaching career.
