Training 23/11
If no one else is writing a training report, I better do one. They trained at Elsternwick Park (so close to home, nice if it was permanent) and I can't remember seeing such intense football training drills at this time of the year. Hard in and under hand passing and kicking drills. Lots of talking and Lyon shouting "support the ball carrier" and "go inside".
Quite a few just doing laps - Ball, Goddard, Harvey. King and Gardiner together kicking and then doing laps. Kosi just had a massage. Allen had both ankles in ice. No X. Raph involved in everything and seemed to look bigger.
Session was intense and went for over 1 1/2 hrs.

Are you sure it was Kosi?El Wood wrote: Quite a few just doing laps - Ball, Goddard, Harvey. King and Gardiner together kicking and then doing laps. Kosi just had a massage. Allen had both ankles in ice. No X. Raph involved in everything and seemed to look bigger.

I got there about 9:45 and King and Gardi were having massages. I also overheard 2 telephone conversations which seemed to indicate Kosi was not there - unless he left earlier and they were looking for him?
Re: Training 23/11
Did you see Gram there? I noticed S Fisher didnt do any of the running drillls, just stayed by the boundary line.El Wood wrote:If no one else is writing a training report, I better do one. Did anyone stand out or impress you in the drills?
You can't help but notice the usuals - Monty, Dal, Reiwoldt, Lenny (with mo), Milne. Fiora looks so thin and un-muscly. Noticed Luke Van Rheenan trying hard. Birss, with another ugly mo looking a lot like McQualter, was also in it all.

That was the first thing that I noticedSaints43 wrote:Does this mean we are going to see the first Saints shepherd since 2005?El Wood wrote:...Lyon shouting "support the ball carrier"...
Hope so.
It's looking like Lyon is going be putting a lot of emphasis on supporting the ball carrier and it's about time, also great to hear about Raph and Birss getting into it:)
As for LVR trying, that's a start atleast.... it seems he has the right attitude...
And El Wood, how was Goddard looking, did he look uncomfortable in his kicking motion? Was he running at a reasonable pace, and even though you're not a doctor (I assume) what chance would you give him of returning round 1?

Goddard didn't kick the footy but was just running. Looked very comfortable and relaxed. Ran with Ball and another player who I didn't recognise. The third player had trouble keeping up with them.

Hopefully this is just tightness from being reasonably inactive for a while...Dal'sGal26 wrote:Banger didn't look right. Just saw him running laps. Gram left early and Chips didn't look 100% either.SaintBot wrote:harvsrodgerfox wrote:So, who has had surgery that we know of?
Bally obviously.
Who else?
If it is more soft tissue problems I don't know what to think
I think the players should do all their pre season training on the beach, nice cushioning soft surface aswell as it being more of a workout...

Kosi was indeed at training ... but just did a little business on the field then left.
There's a few more snaps at WoM
