We still have Lenny and Baker....
I was always hoping that Rix could develop into that role, could you imagine a guy as mobile and big as rix hammering you to the ground, you'd think twice before going for the ball again wouldn't you...
But alas it was not to be...
No offence champ, but Lenny is anything but an enforcer. He cops the hits, a bit like Scotty West, but he doesn't give them out.

Baker is a midfield enforcer that's true, but he generally focuses on destablisling a single opponant.

And just because Rix pushed that Hawthorn bloke over the boundary line, well, I wouldn't read too much into that ;)

What I like about about Gardiner is that he throws his weight around. He protects his midfielders. Hamill's ability to protect forwards and midfielders was a massive asset and we'll miss it a lot.
As for Lenny, I have seen him throw his weight around many a time, he is probalby the best tackler at the club along with Gilbo and Ball... Look at that youtube footage against Brisbane...
I think you might be misreading me. A great tackler he may be, but he's slender. If you're of Hayes's height, you need to have the brick-outhouse build of Baker, Archer or Campbell Brown to be a midfield enforcer. Otherwise you're a skinny bloke who's a good tackler, and there's plenty of them about...
As for Baker, you're probably right he usually does tend to stick to one opponent, but I wouldn't mind seeing him going up to a plyer who is giving Dal a bit of a tough time and just laying him out (preferably legally)
Amen to that. Baker is an excellent tagger - it's his primary role - but if he could work off his man occasionally to rough up others, it would really highten his impact.
As for Gardiner it would be great but I just don't see him taking that role, from all we hear he is as fragile as he's ever been...
True - it's just a hope. King isn't such an aggressive type, so we can't expect it from him. I just want to see King play lots and be very competitive.
As for an outsider what about Gilbert, he doesn't need to be too physical but if a player is having a bit too much of a say in the game or if they are giving one of our midfielders a hard time a bone crunching tackle from Gilbo could sort them out...
He's a good tackler, but again, like Hayes, being a good tackler means only that; he needs to add serious bulk to his frame before he can take that role I'm thinking about.

Daniel Kerr is the best tackler for his size in the comp, but you wouldn't call him a physical enforcer. Ironically, where Gilbo catches and dumps him ( is great footage. (In defence of Kerr, he's off balance and ripe for the picking...you'd expect even Fiora to drill him there.)

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

He's one of the more aggressive ruckmen in the comp.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

This guy is a danger machine who can single handedly tear the the heart out of opposition fans and consume it...after doing nothing the whole game. Still worth it.

As for Rix, I didn't even see him do that to the hawks player, I have never seen him do anything remotely enforcing I was just saying him because of his sheer size....

As for Gardiner it would be great but I just don't see him taking that role, from all we hear he is as fragile as he's ever been...

I agree while you don't see Lenny going and dishing out the massive hip and shoulders he's the first one that will stand up to other players, and coaches haha, but he goes at it hard and is probably the best tackler we have.

No he isn't.

Anything but aggressive.

Good ruckman when fit, but aggression has never been and never will be part of his game.
