Didn't get it last year, would you say that it is worth it?

It's a fantastic deal - for 48c a week (sounds like an ad for your ABC) you get The Age 4 times each week, being the main sports editions.

It's a terrific deal.

Last year I renewed in Feb.
This year I will renew before Xmas to get that "MUST HAVE" DVD.

Does that mean my Age subscription will run out in Dec 2008 or Feb 2009 ?

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

Using The Age to wrap garbage up is too good a use.

I lay it out for the dog to pee on.

It depends if you want to read The Age or not.

I find The Age's footy coverage to be absolutely appalling.

It all seems to be off-field gossip and opinion pieces. Far too much opinion from Caroline 'Need a Headline' Wilson, and the other Patrick Smith wannabe's. Even their 'factual articles' are filled with personal opinion.

The Herald-Sun is a trashy glorified tabloid magazine - but it's footy coverage leaves The Age for dead.

Yes true - however we used to subscribe to the Age prior to this offer so it saves us about $180 a year.

We got it for the paper not just the sports which is below par compared to the Hun. However with the internet I can get all the info I need before the paper is even printed.

Age today says readership is highest it has been since 1985 with 30,000 extra readers. That equates to the Saints membership :D

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

We never read it when we got it for free, to be honest, it just clogged up the recycling bin. Why would I want it now I have to pay for it?

They used to hand it out at Victory games, but people ripped it up and used it as confetti - no more free Ages after a few weeks of that!

good points JB....remember the Age $25 offer is not just for Saints members, also Melbourne Victory members (22,500) plus I think 2 or 3 other footy clubs.

Quite obviously it's all about subscriptions, even if they are almost nil-revenue.

I think advertisers pay more based on not only total newspaper sales but also subscriptions - they couldn't give a stuff if someone has got their paper for 48 cents a week or $4.80!!!

Yeah I wouldn't mind it for entertainment and politics (school :()
But I don't even think I would read the sports section, it really is just crap, and to make it worse the writers are so ego driven...
