Very interesting list.
Some names i wouldnt have expected to see
Some guys i know who i had no idea would be nominating
Anyone know the rulings behind nominations? can anyone who thinks they are good enough, and are of age nominate? because there is a 30 year old in there by the name of sellwood...no scott selwood...who is a 30yo who comes from bendigo(?)
i wouldve thought at least one club would have had to have nominated you
Of the former saints
Troy Schwarze
Justin Sweeney
James Wall twice
Ed McDonnell
Andrew McQualter
Allan Murray
Dylan Pfitzner
Phil Raymond
Cathal Corr
Casey Scorpians
David Biagi
Stephen Brewer
Ashley Eames (thought he was the ruckman who left Casey after we drafted Rix instead of him?)
Rohan Frost
Kyle Matthews
Gary Sammartino
Alex Silvagni

Might get drafted twice for different teamsSaintBot wrote:James Wall twice
If he played on himself he would still be struggling to get a kick.

Disappointing to see no Stefan Garrubba. He is the one player from Casey I would seriously consider.
Shannon Geary is meant to go alright.
I am amazed that Stewie Dew has put his name down. I saw a picture of him this year and he had let himself go like there was no tomorrow.
Also, there are probably quite a few names on that list of people who have completely given up. When you register for the National Draft/Rookie Draft, your name goes down for two years. Guys like Aaron Henneman and also Caydn Beetham wouldn't actually expect to be any chance of getting drafted. Troy Makepeace is on the list but he has retired from professional footy.

Garrubba was there, Draft noinations last for three years, there would be blokes in that list who have given up on aspirations at the top level. For e.g, Troy Schwarze would have nominated after being delisted last season, but his nomination is Valid for last year, this year and next year. I think its fair to say he isn't expecting to be re-drafted at this stage.
Garrubba obviously nominated when he was on Sydneys Rookie list, hence Sydeay is listed as his club.
I can't remember the rules at the moment re. Nominating. I do know however that there are new rules is so that your average local football can't nominate (plenty of times in the past bloke who struggle in the u/18s right through to being 35 y/o vetrans would nominate to boast that 'I nominated for the national draft") their would have been 1000 blokes who not 1 of the AFL recruiters had ever heard of. This can still happen if somebody know the right person, but much less. and it is very pointless and a waste of time, never worry about a bloke who says 'I nominated for the national draft' it doesn't make them a better or more capable or even that more scouts are looking at them, it simply means they are eligable to be drafted on draft day.
Most TAC clubs will get everyplayer on the list to nominate regardless, this just makes things easier and means that they have a 'live' nomination for the following 2 seasons as well if they have a good year in the VFL SANFL etc. etc.
I will need to refresh on the rules, but i'd say the 30 year old Selwood is one of the people who happened to get their hands on an application, unless the tigers are looking to add mature bodies and experience
I think 1 of the rules are that it needs to be signed off by some sort of Authority (level of, i'm not sure)
