For the board to prove it has brass balls

Post: # 489635Post karnak »

We need to turn up on our first scheduled clash guernsey game with our old heritage jumper from 06'.

Cop the fine from the AFL and tell them to get fcuked. We basically invented the damn thing and really showed iniative. I really hope the new board starts to stand up for its members, which in all honesty is what it is there for.

I'm sick of our club rolling over and playing dead.

"footy first" I couldn't see them caring too much about clash strips.

Image is everything.

Footy first hey,

so we make it to the 2008 GF and get forced to play in our clash strip (it is a possibility)

That would be a disgrace, we need to be prepared.

never gonna happen

and if we do change our clash strip, it will be to something totally different, as to make money you have to churn out a different jumper every couple of years, as people will buy them to try keep up-to-date

The stickied thread indicates we will have a new clash strip in '08 but we can't use the stripes again.

Doubt we'll be fined, as it would never get that far. The AFL need to agree to have thier logo on anything we manufacture, so they won't even get made. Can't wear the old ones as Piping Hot and Bill Express would sue us for using thier logos without permission.

Give it up, I loved it too, but its never coming back.

Everyone needs to get over the heritage jumper. For the millionth time, sponsors don't like it as logos don't stand out.

what a great idea instead of putting money into the footy dept we should blow it on the the afl to make a point we like stripes on our jumpers
as for playing the g/f in a clash jumper i would be just happy to be in the g/f regardless of what we are wearing

How about instead of an actual clash strip we trial a clash body-paint strip?

This would give the word "strip" a whole new meaning and would be a hit with the highly valued female and gay membership.

I was thinking initially of a tattoed strip but this could be a bit of a problem when players leave/retire etc...not to mention the pain associated with clash shorts!

Thoughts?
