gibbs is awesome..leunberger has played like 2 games and to say he's better than gibbs is stupid.
under pagan..gibbs played in the backline (where he stopped quality opposition like tredrea etc). When ratten moved in he was played in the midfield. gibblet got like 24 touches a game..but during that time all the attention was on the negatives at carlton....i.e. tanking and fevola...nobody mentioned how good gibbs was. He's effective and one of the best small backmen in the league...unlike fisher maguire r.clarke etc. gibbs knows how to stay on his man (by his side) and punch the balll away. If anything he's under-rated, as everyone says that he's s***. Everyone puts too much pressure on him.

Poor kid over runs the footy and ends up with his nuts in the air with a team mate doing his best to send them up to his eye balls with the sherin and your having a go at him for flinching a bit c'mon give the kid a go.

He is still so young and will end up a star,to play AFL at 18 you need to be anything but a squib.

I'm with you sting. Have raised this a number of times and a few of my fellow "spotters" had pointed it out to me numerous times. Can't beat a guy who is prepared to go and get the pill. That's why Harvey is a champion because he gets it and in getting it has peripheral vision and the most amazing evasive skills of anyone I have seen in the game.

i agree ...selwood was by far the best on what we have seen to date.......gibbs has a long way to go before he justifies carscums faith....
