MOORABBIN WING PEOPLE PLEASE READ!!!!!!!

Post: # 484243Post saint66au »

I've been in contact with the Club in regard to Level 3 reserved seating for 2008 and how it will affect the Moorabbin Wing

Details on 2008 reserved seating will be hopefully released on next week, but there will be Level 3 reserved seating available through the Club as per 2007. What I'm writing for us to gauge the Level of interest in MW members taking advantage of it. What I would like is an answer to one multiple-choice question..

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BUYING RESERVED SEATING FROM THE CLUB ON THE MOORABBIN WING FOR SEASON 2008??

A. Yes I am..and I'm prepared to pay the $180/adult (less for Juniors) for 11 Home Games that was charged in 2007

B. Yes I am, but the cost was too expensive last year. Id be interested if they discounted it to perhaps $120.00/adult (Less for Juniors) for 11 Home Games

C. No, I will continue to use the Moorabbin Wing as per 2007.

Before answering, please bear in mind the following..

* The seats would be most likely be located between Aisles 35 and 36 i.e. the "old" location of the Moorabbin Wing, in rows D, E and F..or down to the front 3 rows among those who already had seats there in 2007.

* Whilst I'm more than willing to offer the same ticketing service for the games Telstra Dome declare "ticketed" as per previous years, there is no guarantee that they will waive the "Premium" seat fee (in 2007 it was $11.00 per seat on top of the booking fee that you did pay for each game) as they have in the past. That decision is not made until just prior to the new season starting. We've been very fortunate so far but its a gesture I would never take for granted.

Ideally, we could make a large booking of around 50-60 people and use up those whole 3 rows. This would ensure that none of the seats are sold to opposition supporters on Match Days. As we all witnessed, that scenario can lead to some interesting altercations!!

Answering the question does not put you under any obligation, its just an expression of interest that allows me to gauge numbers before discussing further a formal booking with the Club.

Oh...if you answer "Yes" could you indicate roughly how many seats you would consider buying

If you could get back to me before the end of this coming weekend Id be most grateful. Feel free to add any other comments or suggestions you may have!

Post here or PM me..and if you have already replied to an email from me on this...thanks and your work is done :-)

Well, I do like sitting with the regulars  , but I am unsure with the reserved seating proposition...

A. is obviously top dollar..

B. is a proposition that maybe on offer...

C. is, well yeah, pay under $3 a match for a reserved seat with supporters you like to sit with...

I gather last year no game was full ticketed for us...

so this year is the following matches that may cost us $11.00 or more..IMO

Round 2 Saints V Collingwood

Round 4 Saints V Geelong

Round 5 Saints V Essendon

Round 8 Saints V Collingwood

I maybe wrong but to me these are the games that would be fully ticketed..

(bearing in mind no saints games were fully ticketed in 2007)

So if I was to pay $12.00 a ticket for those matches it will come to $48.00 as to the offer from the club of $180 or maybe $120

If I am wrong please comment...

otherwise I will opt for option C

Fid...by ticketed i meant "front six rows" ticketed as per 2007

Id have to check to be sure but I think 7-8 of our 11 home games had that status

I love sitting in the MW with my mates, but Im dead set against paying $180 (or even $120) to sit in an area that has been included for free up until the club got greedy last year.

I already pay over $250 for my membership, and refuse to pay any extra.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. What's the genuine benefit??

The obvious benefit is a reserved seat...

Noones forcing you into it guys...just an expression of interest (of which Ive had a surprisingly positive response to)

There'll still be plenty of seats to turn up and grab ..as always :-)

Would be a B for me Michael, if I can upgrade as I've already signed up for next season.

A small problem I have with it is that you pay $120/$180 for the reserved seat and you may end up sitting next to a supporter that bags players all match...

I think you know what I mean...

There were one or two this year that rubbished Luke Ball and Gram and a few others...

I would be spewing if I paid that much money and I ended up sitting to one of those supporters

Yep..always the risk with reserved seats Fid..but..if we get a large enough group of us Id like to think that there are enough familiar faces from previous years that if we wanted to swap around seats from time to time it wouldnt be too much of a drama

Oh..and I think it would be an unwritten but very firm law that if you are among this group and you cant make it to a game..if you lend your seat its to a fellow Saints fan!!!!!

an upercut usually sorts that sort of crap out......i used to go to the basketball...a while ago now...when there was still a team called st kilda playing...there was his guy who used to sit behind me with one of those clacker/clappers...used to clack it near my ear...i asked him to stop a couple of times nicely......no effect....eventually i told him that if he did it again ...he would be making clacking noises everytime he had a crap .....didn't hear another peep out of him.

..next year...he and his pug ugly missus sat somewhere else...we kept our seats......prime location.......

I'm either a 'B' or 'C' depending on what is available. Option 'A' is clearly way too expensive ... even at the Premium rates for such games 'A" is much more expensive in comparison.

"Here's a new service, would you like to pay $400 or $100 for it?"

Of course everyone is going to pick the cheaper option!

The choice was given to ascertain if anyone was willing to pay the $180 should that be the price again

come on. 120 for 11 games. We need to make money. I know 180 is not cheap, but come on, the game is corporate now and needs to make money. We wouldnt survive if the price was this. Maybe 150 for 11 games. St kilda is the second last team in terms of revenue with roos above us. Lucky we have many more members. I wish it could be 120 per ticket. Not these days. Just my opinion.

That's $180 on top of your membership fee, I believe. Michael?

Yes..the reserved seat price is on top of your membership...and you have to be a member to reserve a Yearly seat.

The membership drive I belive will "go live" as of tomorrrow...at which time I MAY have some good news about the cost of these seats

As Eastern would say...STAY TUNED!!

I'll be also using the MW as I did this year, i.e. not considering a reserved seat. However I still appreciate your work and dedication in organising all this for us saints fans.

St Kilda have no "away team" reserved seat rights..so its first in best dressed as it always has been

The exception to this may well be the away game v Essendon, as parts of the MW are used as Essendon reserved seating at Ess home games. Will cross that bridge closer to the time :-)
