Banger in 2008
Banger needs 20 games in 2008 to become the 3rd highest number of games played at 379 over an amazing 20 years.
It's interesting to note though that Tuck played 426 games over 19 years.
How many games would Harves have played if he played for say a Hawthorn or Essendon and played in regular finals???
Would he still be going on at his age in 2008?
Hyptheticals are wonderful aren't they???

Harvey has played 14 finals in his career, which is obviously nowhere near Tuck, but is still reasonable.
What has cost him were the two years when he did his shoulder and knee ... I reckon he missed around 20 games with those two serious injuries.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

I'd be surprised if he plays 20 games.
I think he might be rested for a few games.
And he will certainly be played more off the bench.

I reckon Des Meagher was the "fastest" kick I ever saw.yltnias wrote:Yep, my memory is a little hazy but I only recall Tuck being out for period of time on one occasion.
P.S. I was at the club in 1983 under Des Meaher and Ray Biffin.
His kicking action was such that he almost threw the ball at his boot.
Ugly to watch.
And Biffo was certainly ugly fullstop.

as far as the OP goes I am fairly sure that next year will be Harvey's 21st year in the VFL/AFL which will be a record in its self
Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear, run down there and light the bloody thing yourself!
also tucky played in an era when hawks were pretty much always in finals so over 20 years you can add 40 to 50 more games the hawks played.

Had Harvs missed under 30 he would be currently around 415 games!
Since his Debut in rd 19 ' 1988 he has Missed 75games
1989 - 10 1999 - 5 2007 - 3
1990 - 4 2000 - 6
1993 - 3 2001 - 13
1994 - 4 2002 - 12
1995 - 5 2004 - 2
1996 - 1 2005 - 7
I think a great stat in those 75games Stkilda's win/loss record is -
won - 19
lost - 55
tie - 1
great stat.mcadam05 wrote:

its interesting that our loss to melbourne coincided with harvey's injury, our defeat in perth coincided with harvey's injury against freo.
etc
in time to come I will say I was privaleged to see some
of the all time greats of football, oh and robert harvey who is a god.
