This was advertised on Wednesday ... obviously we have signed a few sponsors up, or are on the verge of doing so, because I would imagine such a position demands some sponsors to work with.

Not a bad package - 60k per year.

* Delivering upon the key benefits to the sponsor
* Develop and implement return investment strategies for the sponsors
* Weekly meetings & follow ups with the sponsors

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

I guess the club are seeking someone who can communicate effectively within the corporate sector but the qualifications with such a position is standard, especially when you are a community organisation - the base salary is minimal for that kind of a position but from what GW was saying there should be excellent incentives to get new business - and of-course it will be a very enjoyable job for the successful candidate who is inclined to footy and especially a Saints supporter. I reckon it would be an excellent position for an ex-player who is qualified (or in the process of being qualified) that is capable of closing a deal - a well-known player would a n absolute hit with the corps.

Love the sound of the job, but I don't get out of bed for that kind of moolah.

Money sounds kind of low for a key role like that anyway.

when they say that might go interstate, the club would pay for that wouldnt they? or is that out of the 60k you get a year?

Yes they pay Dooley

Should be all inclusive - normally phone and car costs will piggy-back on a gig like this too

Pretty pox position

Basically looking for a personality above all else

Badly worded ad for mine

Who wrote it?

It's a three-and-a-half hour shift, but going backwards in time.

It's hoped that the successful candidate will eventually make their way back to 27 September 1997, where they will put laxative powder into Darren Jarman's pre-match Powerade.

But according to the theory of the Space-Time-Continuum it is very dangerous to see ones' self when one has travelled back in time

Threrefore the person most likely for this job is Dooley

Why? Because I am honest? We all have an earning capacity and a minimum income expectation that is derived from that capacity. I have a wife, 3 kids and a mortgage and earn significantly more than this position pays. The reality is that whilst the job itself would be very enjoyable I would dismiss it immediately if approached because the income loss would be too great and the gap from what they're offering to what I would accept could not realistically be closed.
The job sounds great, but I couldn't afford to take it - does that phrasing offend your delicate sensibilities too?
Get over yourself - there are plenty that earn a load more than me, and if someone else had posted that they don't get up for 150k per year I wouldn't give a toss - good luck to for having the option of not getting up for less.

55-60k OTE is a junior sales role. Would probably suit either someone coming out of telesales, or someone looking to beef up the account management side of their resume.

Sales roles are about the $$$.

I honestly wonder how they'd get someone who can prove "Ability to communicate and liaise in a professional manner with senior executive levels of management" for that package.

Ad says nothing about incentiove bonuses on top of that base salary?

Looks to me like they are hoping to get a Saints fan who will take the pay cut as a trade-off for working with the team they support

I showed it to a couple of people in the Sales Dept at my work ...and they laughed...quite hard..when they saw the salary on offer

Ad actually says 55-60k is OTE, so that would include bonuses and commission.

That package is a disgrace! I work in the industry and we need to be paying $100K plus to get someone half decent.

Footy clubs are a joke when it comes to salary (and they bleed you for everything). I'm extremely disappointed in Westaway and the new board as this was one of his beefs with Rocket and Co - not servicing sponsors well enough.

Well if you pay that crap, you'll get crap.

As a Journo graduate with Public Relations and Communications Minors I may just chuck a resume for that.

See how we go.

It is all relative, for an 18 YO graduate it is great bucks!

For a professional suitably qualified person it is half what they'd be looking for a a base salary without allowances.

StKFC pays peanuts and is rewarded accordingly, the club can not expect that top people will be seduced by the 'sex appeal' of working for an AFL team for that renumeration.

Good luck HD ... would be a great job for a few years ... :)

As Joffa Burns said, they are obviously aiming at someone mid 20's to early 30's, who has finished their uni degree and possibly had a position somewhere else.

If you're 25/26, that's good money to be earning.

Although by the sounds of what SB10 said, they might struggle to get many interested even at that level.

do you know any graduates that are 18 yr olds? sheesh they must be smart :P

nah good posts, but I would assume that they would ramp it up a little if they got a sniff of a good professional. Of course have a great year and bring in the $$$ and you might see them being asked how much they want
