The difference is that Gardiner was cast adrift for no price to the Saints, no direct evidence of guilt & with no certainty of success.

If we draft Cousins; He will cost us a heap; he's as guilty as hell and we will all expect success.

I hope you're right about our current lot of midfielders, sure, it'd be "nicer" not to have the likes of Cousins and Kerr at our club, well, Cousins is gone, but Kerr would be OK.....Kerr is nowhere near as messy so speak as Cousins.

Kerr though IMO is better than any of our midfielders, and would make an enormous difference to our team.

Give me a flag with some dodgy players than no flag and continual disappointment with a team of worthy gentlemen anyday!

the 2-3 years we would get out of cousins if he was ever a chance to join us would not be worth the lost sponsorship money, not to mention the detrimental effect it would have on the clubs culture.

cousins signing with us alone would not win us a flag, so focus on getting our group right and the results will come..geelong didnt have to sign any superstars at the end of last season to turn their fortunes around.

i dont disagree but the negatives outweigh the positives due to the off field effect it would have on the club.
