Hi guys,

I have been visiting this forum for a long time now and it is a great place to get vital saints info and read very good opinions and intelligent insights when you are up in NSW.

However, time and time again I come here only to see the place reduced to childish bickering and other similar rubbish from pretty much the same couple of people all the time. ie, barks4ever. Some retaliate but my point is that this stuff doesn't need to be started in the first place.

I know this stuff has been beaten to death but you guys took a step in the right direction with teflon, now do the same with the other guy dragging this place down. He has no value for anyone's opinions other than his own, and hijacks other threads with insults and dribble.

I like coming here and I know a lot of people do, even the ones that just browse. Let s keep the good thing going.

My friend, if it is indeed your 'first' post, why did you first decide to post about silly internet in-fighting rather than the million or so burning issues in regards the St Kilda Football Club.....Sounds a bit suss to me.

Actually mate it is my first post. I generally don't post because I'm busy and getting everyone's spin on things is enough for me. No BS or anything, just think the place can be a good place, and why mess with that when it provides that enjoyment?

AOK, footy has really grown here now. I remember my old man used to go to all the meetings to get it up and going but could never field full sides. Now, atleast in the junior ranks there are multiple teams. Plugger lives out near moss vale, but don't really care much for him anymore...

I lived in the Southern Highlands for 20 years. There was only 3 Sainters in the whole area. There was Burke ('s Back Yard), Gra, Gra Kennedy and me. Is that you Burkie?

G'day there mate - great first post.

As you probably know, I'm one of the mods here, and I do my best to keep the site neat and tidy, as do all our other mods. We don't always get it right but we definitely try our best. It's certainly not a role for ego-trippers or people in need of power either (particuarly when you realise the job involves deleting porn 99% of the time).

I've been really keen for this board to sharpen up its act for some time and dispense with the crap - just like you and so many others want it - because, IMO, we've lost too many quality posters because of the rubbish which goes up.

At the moment, the mods are stuck in a terribly hard place. The majority of people I come across want us to crack down on the rubbish and to get this board to a position where it's as healthy as possible. Debates aplenty, but without the personal insults and childish bickering which seems to froth over.

However, there's a small but vocal faction who believe Saintsational is the pissing wall of democracy, and anything which goes on - provided it's not illegal - should be treated as sacred. And boy, do these people make themselves heard! They make Family First look quiet

FWIW (my view only here, it may/may not be that of the other mods) it's my belief that we owe it to the board to tidy it up.

For starters, I want to see something done about sms language (lets face it, if you can't be bothered typing it out, why should we be bothered reading it? You shouldn't disrespect the board and its posters by throwing up a slab of unreadable text), and something done about trying to curb the insults.

I hate watching quality threads degenerate into slagging matches between the same 7-8 posters. The same lot nearly every time.

Conversely, watching a debate unfold without the insults, but with informed opinions - this should be fostered and encouraged. It's a real joy to watch a great thread sprout to life with colour and insight.

After all, it's what made this place great in the first place.

I can wade through the crap generally (yes, B4E's posts ). This place is brilliant for getting the edge on breaking news and whispers regarding the club.

Mind you, some of the horsing around that takes place on here is actually quite funny at times

well...only to some extent........for a start........ we should shoot all elected members of local councils...if that improves things...as i know it would ...we could then move on to elected state labour governments.....

Absolutely agree with this - a bit more respect may be required from some posters who ofen behave like children (not pointing the finger at anyone in particular).

Often these fights start with unprovoked personal attacks, if people stayed on issue rather than sling mud, we'd all get along better, I think.
