video: On the 24th of June - The Story of Harvey's 350th
Just a video I've made to commemorate the occasion. This has become a bit of a hobby of mine, so it has.
It was an unbelievable game of football over in Perth. Hard, tough, full of twists and turns - an epic in every sense of the word and a game that will live long in all our memories.
For everything that Robert Harvey has given to our club, it really was a game we dared not lose and thankfully in the end it was a famous victory, one of St Kilda's most important in its history.
Hopefully I captured the passion and emotion that was flowing through our boys that day, as well as the romance of Banger's 350th.
Download, make sure you turn the volume up a bit when you view it and let me know what you think.

Enjoy it

Great clip,SaintBot wrote:iv never seen the family (a combination of sainters and blues) so hooked to a football movie
the mother wants to know what the songs were?
I really enjoy this type of music, heard it before, cant quite put my finger on the song that played predominantly through it....let us know when you can.
I'm guessing its from an album by E.S. Posthumus called "Unearthed" (its on iTunes if you want to hear the first 30 secs free or buy it). I think i've heard it from one of the Bourne films again...not sure.

As benengel mentioned the first song is from the movie Requiem for a Dream which, if you haven't seen it, is about four people whose lives spiral way out of control when their drug addictions take over. Stunning movie although extremely frightening. I still haven't managed to sit through it for a second time.
I used the orchestral version by Clint Mansell, it's a very moving piece.
Second tune, as saint66 said, is Coming Home by Mark Knopfler. Newcastle United run out to that at St James' Park, that's where I first heard it and it's always sent a chill down my spine since.
Another thing, Clinton Grybas is now my favourite commentator in the world. His commentary, throughout the whole game but particularly after the final siren, was outstanding. Commetti would've been cracking gags from start to finish - couldn't have that!
That bit of the video just after half time where Staker kicks a goal, Grybas says "the Eagles are coming" and Staker points his finger into the sky in celebration is my favourite bit.
Spent literally an hour cutting it and slowing it down over and over to get the timing with the music just right.
Cheers for the comments, I really appreciate it.

Gilbert's tackle on Kerr is bloody sensational. It's like Kerr is a tackle bag, and Gilbert just slams through him.
RL's interchange of Dal Santo was a piece of brilliant timing ...
And that ball was out
I reckon I've watched it five times OLB. Great stuff.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.
Glad you're enjoying it.Oh When the Saints wrote:Gilbert's tackle on Kerr is bloody sensational. It's like Kerr is a tackle bag, and Gilbert just slams through him.

Hard to tell but the ball did look out. You even hear the crowd start jeering after Dal kicks it.
Around 1.38 into the vid, how clever was Baker? He knows Kerr is going to try to intercept so dummies the handball, waits till Kerr's out of the picture and then gives it off to Joey. Lovely stuff.

Great Video - some very touching moments.
As for Clinton Grybas, your point is very valid. He has a great natural ability to make "neutral" games far more exciting than other callers of our great game. He oozes passion, is fair, balanced and unbiased. I never heard the call on the day (as I was at Steak out without volume), but that was just stirring stuff.
Your an old gun OLB with the outstanding quality of your video productions. Any chance of Japanese subtitles
LukeL26 and you should be business partners.

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."
