gardiner i would have only given 1
and dempster 1-2

Yes probably 1 each for D and G.

I think that while both can add to our depth that they were probably in large part taken to get Schneider and King...as both the Cats and the Swans had salary cap problems.

D and G do BOTH have an upside though...but even if they don't it was ok getting them purely as back up players so that we could land King and Schneider. A few Cat mates reckon that Gardiner had a good year and that it was only that S Johnson was having an excellent year which kept him out.

RL would obviously know Dempster well...so he may surprise us by becoming a solid bottom 6 player.

Because Johnston would be on a big contract and schneider not

There are no rules...

It all depends on what clubs deal.

It has happened before that when a club has a player on a contract that to get another club to accept him that the first club agrees to pay a portion of the future contract.

Dempster would be on 2-3 years at least.

Lyon rates him hugely and if he is fit, he will play 25 games for us next year, and every match whilst RL is coach.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

i would understand if he had 2, but 3 years imo is too long. a fringe player from an opposition club should not get a 3 year deal upon arrival.

I don't mind the look of Dempster and would like to see him turn out to be a very servicable player for our club, and playing in our 2008 premiership team :P however i think he should have to prove himself in our stripes, whiulst RL may rate him highly, he has done nothing in saints colours to warrantr a 3 year deal.

from what i've heard and seen, dempster is a fair kick comparable with bj. RL might see him at the very least ,as our new kick in guy.Dont want to see Dal doing it any more he should be on the end of them not the other way round.

I know it means FA, but I noticed Gardiner finished 2nd in the VFL B&F. To me, it means he is no hack even though he was playing in a premiership side.

I think we may have a rough opal here!!

I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.
