Can the AFL please stop giving money to Carlton now?
Okay, the Blues have just anounced a 3 million plus profit for the year, and guess what?
2.2 million came from their buddies at AFL headquarters.
Now, excuse my cynicism and so on, but if your president is the second richest man in the land, and you have just put one player on a 6 million dollar contract, surely you should be giving that 2.2 million dollar gift back!
Now, I recall our beloved club being roundly criticized in all football circles (including AFL headquarters) for putting a coach on a million dollar a year contract, with buffoons like the then Essendon president taking a major swipe at us for spending so much money when were still in debt!
Strangely, no such criticism has found its way to Carlton. In fact, they are being doubly rewarded by the AFL by getting an outrageous cash handout, and then being given the other financial bonus of being pencilled in to play a game on Good Friday?
Of course, the Blues are used to people giving them outrageous amounts of cash, so they'll just see it as business-as-usual.
Give the money back, Carlton. And as for the AFL commission, if you're going to criticize the Saints for not spending their money wisely, then perhaps you should take a good look at your own mis-directed spending.

If it wasnt for Dean Laidley being a bigger joke at the recruiting table then Ross Lyon would be under the pump..
Laidley has set the bar low and come through with flying colours...
Davies and Sam Power are two great gets...not
But Lyon is right up there with King, Gardiner, Schnieder and Dumpster...
We shoud have the Kangas and Saints well covered next season....."

If it makes things easier, they can give it back in a brown paper bag under the table. That's how Carlton does transactions isn't it?cwrcyn wrote:Now, excuse my cynicism and so on, but if your president is the second richest man in the land, and you have just put one player on a 6 million dollar contract, surely you should be giving that 2.2 million dollar gift back!

They cant give the money back to the AFL until Juddy gives the brown paper back (made from Vissy for a fixed price of course)
Its going to take him a while to empty the paper bag but i'm sure they will refill it and send it on its way to the AFL.
Sorry i forgot about the court case with every major company going for compo from Pratty, better hurry up Juddy and empty it because like in the past the money will soon run out after paying MILLIONS in compo
Hope its sooner rather than later you bunch of cheats, go broke you scumbags.
