carlton trying to buy success again
this is precisely what the draft and trading rules are supposed to prevent. little sweetheart deals and money winning out. arrogant pr*cks
http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/ ... 22,00.html
CARLTON and Chris Judd have discussed a one-year price tag of up to $2 million if, as a last resort, he is forced into the pre-season draft.
It is believed the contingency plan would be acted upon if West Coast did not deal with Carlton and Judd refused to sign with Richmond, which would mean the pre-season draft was his only avenue.
The Blues hope the unprecedented bounty on Judd's head would blow Richmond out of the equation.
Judd's contract would have to fit into the salary cap and would then be re-worked for seasons two, three, four and five at Carlton.

wouldnt u just love for them to make the same mistakes again, and be stuck on the bottom for another decade, i would find it hilarious
Havent they thought that the likes of Gibbs, Walker, Carrazo, Murphy, Simpson, Fevola, Waite etc might like a piece of the pie at some point and not all for the messiah in Judd.
Surely the players mentioned above will further improve and become worth a lot more in the open market in the coming years. How will they fit them all in. Id certainly like stk going after a couple of these players if they are being underpayed.
Who at Carlton of all places would take a thing called a pay cut to stay at the club??

its true its like the carlton hobnobs are saying Judd is going to be the most important being in all of carlton so the rest of you bugger off ... not really great for building a relationship with your teammates is it ?

This is Carlton doing it the only way they know how.
When faced with the salary cap, the draft, and so on, they couldn't manage themselves at all. They just didn't have enough smart people who were used to working hard and being organised.
So what happens? Yet again, a big, fat businessman comes along with a bag full of money and buys them out of trouble. The lazy way rules at Carlton as it always had. So much trumpetting about being a great club, when it's basically been a series of sugar daddies doling out the cash. How has their new president money-bags influenced the AFL into awarding Carlton the Good Friday scheduling??? After all, Mr Pratt is a man of influence....
So let's just sit back and watch it all unfold, and hope that it all amounts to nothing. Just when some people's loathing of the Blues may have been dissipating, they've bourght back the passion in them.

I was hoping that Carlton got so carried away trading players in order to get Judd that they had no decent forwards left, imagine that,Judd wins the ball out of the middle, looks up and he's got no one to kick it to other than Whitnall..
He then opts to handpass to Ackland and tells him to make something of it...
It's not all roses for them......

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

i feel for that josh kennedy kid. left his small town in outback WA to come to the big city for a shot at the big time with a club that really wanted him.
settled in well, felt at home here and was making a good fist of it.
now he's been sent packing because they got a better offer. greedy pricks. typical of carlton
i've got no qualms in sticking the boots into carlton. it's much more fun than kicking the cr#p out of each other.

Some people with these long standing grudges must find work in construction, as they desperately need to build a bridge AND GET OVER IT.
Its sad, and it makes us look foolish.

In my opion Blues have overpaid for Judd and a draft pick worth nothing
#3 - well this kid will probably be a champ in a very good draft year
#20 - will be a decent player and could even be bteer than that
+ Kennedy - has a bright future and plays in a position that Eagles need
Eagles have done well.
Judd may have ongoing injury issues.
And at 1.2 million a year (about 15% of the Total Player Payments) he may generate membership dollars yet never deliver onfield for them if restricted by injury AND now them have salary cap problems of their own.

You seriously must be joking. Got the best player in the comp for a guy I have seen player 10 times and doesnt look up to it and given away 2 picks that may or may not be good players.BackFromUSA wrote:In my opion Blues have overpaid for Judd and a draft pick worth nothing

In terms of long standing grudges or certain issues.....
Carlton are fair game as they have a past history in not being honest with so many things - including their player payments. Hence why they missed out on a draft or two.
imo not much difference between Pratt and Elliott. Both been caught out in a corporate sense. Most likely both will be caught out in a football sense too.....
Don't forget this is the Club whose administration wanted us out of the competition in the 80's. For that we should never forget.

plugger66 - i respect your opinion but 3 and 20 (used well and put through the Eagles system) will go alright ...
Judd is brilliant PRE-injury ... so was Luke Ball.
No guarantees that Judd will recover to 100% capacity - he needs that acceleration from the standing start ... it may be gone.

More than likely will come back as good as ever though and in that case it is a fantastic deal as they have kept pick one. To be honest I dont think we can compare Bally and Juddy as their best. Judd is a once in a generation player Bally at his best is a very good footballer.BackFromUSA wrote:plugger66 - i respect your opinion but 3 and 20 (used well and put through the Eagles system) will go alright ...

Carlton have relieved all doubt and have proven to be a rotten club, rotten to the core.
They embrace dishonesty as if it was a walk in the park.
Apart from the criminal presidents they take on and welcome back to the club their own supporters wanted to see their side lose to get picks, their cheersquad cheered opposition goals.
They will probably improve on field but will remain down the bottom for respect.

Totally agree, they are scum personified.
Will never forgive or forget their crimes against us.
And they have a history of criminal cheating behaviour.
