Will Gardi's feet shape our trading????

Post: # 469986Post saintsRrising »

Well we know that Ross wants a capable ruck...

So I can't help thinking that the shape of Gardi's feet will shape our trading next week.

If the prognosis on his feet is poor then I would anticipate that Ross would chase hard for a ruckman.....and with Hudson being taken, Charman having signed, Jolly is said to re-signing...the pool of available rucks that would be worth securing is rapidly shrinking.

Would Ross swap our first two picks for Woods and Sherman combined????

PS...I think the Hudson trade to the Dogs will be one of the first announced, if not the first.

Stole my logic sRr

If Lyon shows no interest in a ruckman during trade week (and all indications thus far are that he is focussing on mids/half-forwards) then I think we can assume that the club are very confident that Gardiner will play next year.

If, on the other hand, we chase a ruckman hard, I don't reckon we should take quite the same positive view of MG for next year.

I'll believe he's ready when I see him on the track during pre-season.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

I'd prefer they planned in spite of Gardiner...

That way he will only ever be a bonus....

Well Ross may want 2 rucks......

However if no Gardi...then he would no doubt want an experienced ruck.

But if gardi is looking good then someone like Woods would bea good mix...with kois playing full forward.

It would also depaend on what RL things Brooks can do...or not do....

Thommo, GTrain, Voss, hamil, Sweeney and Raymond almost gives enough (2 rookies promoted and so leaves 4 picks) without any more delistings depending on how many drfat and PSd picks are planned.

Won't affect us getting a Midfielder or a Small/Med Forward.

As for us trading for someone like Wood or Blake, It would certainly have some effect.

I was talking to a mate at cricket who knows a young ruckman who played for Ranges, by the name Andrew Renton

I know for a fact that stk and wce have approached with interviews. The only downside is that he injured his knee this year, which could hurt his chances severly.

Very highly rated in local ranks, has anyone heard of him or better still seen him play?

Thoughts?

sRs i see ur logic and i tend to agree with that. Although you may be hinting at an experienced ruckman, i thought the above name might be of interest as well
