Key Position/Ruck.
Should go top 10.
Check with Border Barry?

tipped to go top 5 by some....borderbarry wrote:Apparently this years Selwood is a crash and bash type in Junior Footy. Not the same as his brothers. I would prefer Rioli, who is also a forward as well as on-baller. Very clever apparently.

i had a close look at young joel selwood in the grandfinal.........he was involved in about 75 % of their goals....very, very creative player...i'd take a punt on the 4th one.....saint66au wrote:Dare we ?? ....the 4th Houlihan sticks in my mind stillstinger wrote:SaintBot wrote:heard the carlton recruiter mention his name when he was talking about who the top picks would be

I'm fairly sure Selwood will go after our first pick and before our second. There are more talented players out there.stinger wrote:i had a close look at young joel selwood in the grandfinal.........he was involved in about 75 % of their goals....very, very creative player...i'd take a punt on the 4th one.....
...no...i meant joel....the cats player...that's why i said judging from his first year...i'd take a punt on scott....SaintBot wrote:you mean scottstinger wrote:i had a close look at young joel selwood in the grandfinal.....

no....only saw that from just before half time....got bored with it after a quarter and a bit ......didn't actually notice selwood but i did read a report which stated that he set the game up for his team early on.....SaintBot wrote:sorry read it wrong...i assumed you meant the tac grand finalstinger wrote:...no...i meant joel....the cats player...that's why i said judging from his first year...i'd take a punt on scott....SaintBot wrote:you mean scottstinger wrote:i had a close look at young joel selwood in the grandfinal.....

from a big footy poster.....
"Get yourself a Selwood.
Adam - Premiership player 06
Joel - Premiership player 07
Troy - On the Lions list in a premiership year.
Scott - ?'
...also say an article in an interstate paper about the top five players to watch at this years draft camp....selwood was one of them......

rioli is fairly versatileborderbarry wrote:Apparently this years Selwood is a crash and bash type in Junior Footy. Not the same as his brothers. I would prefer Rioli, who is also a forward as well as on-baller. Very clever apparently.
he has played half back, wing, onball, half forward, forward pocket and even full forward for scotch this season.
would be a good, different replacement for Hamill, i believe he is about 180cm...extremly quick on a lead and can take a grab (high flying marks are also a feature, took the APS mark of the year according to many on bigfooty.
But then he is also an excellent player at ground level and with his agility and clean hands...also he isnt your average outside indiginous kid, fairly solidly built and lays some great tackles
if essendon pass on him im confident we will be able to snare him with pick 9
ps...i would have drafted young everitt on the strength of his name and from watching him play for victoria in last years interstate under 18 games........i would have been right on the money.......the boy will be a star...just like young scott selwood.....

Scott Selwood might still be around at our second pick.
There are 10 better players than him in the draft in the opinion of everyone I've spoken to or anything I've read.
I'm yet to see him in a Top 10.
Not saying he won't be a good footballer, but he is nowhere near the player that Joel or Adam are IMHO.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

seen junoir play a little bit. Not entirely convinced that he would be an on baller in AFL. Very very skilled and clever though. When the ball hits the deck its game over for opposition defendersborderbarry wrote: I would prefer Rioli, who is also a forward as well as on-baller. Very clever apparently.
